You can't give the true born 4 splinter canons as far as I know. Only 2.

@Hedonisiusvex I'm a believer that it's a luxury upgrade as well, just wanted to see if their was any counter argument with regard to the synergy. Seems to be a fairly devisive thing on the forums, a lot of people seem to think it's worth it for that little bit extra range whilst others (myself included) see 15 points for 2 more shots.

I thought he meant 4 in total, 2 from Venom 2 from Trueborns?

I personally dont like Splinter cannons, so i dont take the extra one.

No I actually meant 4 in the unit and 1 (or maybe 2) on the Venom. I didn't realise that we couldn't bring 4 on the unit and that saddens me, because 36 shots at 12 now becomes 28.

Welp, no more Scourges in transports any more. Definitely makes Trueborn look more appealing.

Also worth noting with the new FAQ is that you don't have to pay points for models in undersize squads anymore.

4-strong Trueborn Blaster unit to escort an Archon in a Venom?
2-man Trueborn unit with lances?

36 shots at 12" seems rather good and I feel it's going to be important to be able to put out a large amount of AI fire. It's a shame it's concentrated on 1 unit however. Another interesting point, does this make the cannon on the Venom worth it, simply because it has synergy with the range of the Trueborn?  

sadly you can only take 2 heavy weapons for trueborn, but they can rapid fire at 18 instead which keeps them safer from being charged most of the time

I have run trueborn with 4 Blaster, 2 DL, blast pistol and archon with blast pistol in a dis cannon raider.

Was very expensive but it has enough fire to wipe out a tac squad then kharn then neutralise a defilier then wipe out a hellbrute
