Hi,

maybe a stupid question:

Overwatch is resolved when declaring a charge. It uses all the normal rules for shooting except the to hit roll. We have learned from the designers notes that if a model cannot see the charging unit, it will not be able to fire Overwatch.

Does that mean that you can't overwatch with a flamer (8'') if the charging unit starts more than 8'' away, for example after deep strike?

yes typical flamers automiss overwatch if you start your charge more than 8" away. In addition, since you can now declare charges on units without being able to draw LOS to them, ALL weapons will automiss overwatch if you charge around a corner.

Question: Overwatch and Flamer: Do I still have auto-hit or do I need 6+ (if they start to attack me within 8" and I can see them)?

As far as I know there's nothing that says they don't autohit.
