Okay, I couldn't get to sleep knowing that the hull runes were almost done. Shocked

Tomorrow the coven seal on the sail and the other hull spiky bits get done. After that I am definitely not painting anymore tanks for at least a week cheers Wyches or an HQ as a reward next.

I'd say any wargamer knows that feeling Razz

Nice work, rather simple but very effective, I like it.

It's finally done!(pretty much) Very Happy

Now to take a break from painting Raiders/Ravagers for a week or so. This officially puts me over the first 1000pts hump for painting new stuff. I really need to paint some Wyches or something fun. Painting this many vehicles with my limited time has been a bit taxing on the soul.

Nice tutorial on the runes ESE, thank you very much for doing that.

What to say about your Raider? ...... It's bloody gorgeous! A great conversion and luv'ly paint job, it's really quite characterful.

Are you planning a Ravager with three of those arms?

Damn, somehow we've come up independently with an almost identical paintscheme!

Mine's from 1999 Twisted Evil
Seriously, there are only so many combinations of things that look good, thousands of players...I probably stole it from someone...
Thanks for the kind words everyone. I'm quite pleased with it.
@Gobs- I wasn't planning on doing a Ravager like this but I might do it if I can get a hold of a few more Talks tails. I'll be do a variation of this for my other Coven Raider. Not any time soon though. I really need to get my 1750other list painted up.

Great Coven Raider. I especially dig the use of chronos/talos parts, it really makes the vehicle stand out Smile

@Finn: Thanks! I am looking forward to doing another in the future.
Got around to a few Wyches today. Damn, forgot how much I love painting them! Looks like I might have to paint up a few more before getting back to that damned Ravager Mad

I've had a little time with the Thanksgiving holiday to work on some more Wyches. Damn I love painting them! These are about 70% done:

I'm getting off of my rear and playing an actual game tomorrow against a favorite opponent of mine. My 1500pt army is going to be about mostly painted except my Reavers, a Raider, and a Ravager. I'll be able to pick up my other Wracks, Wyches, and my Haemonculus after the game at the LFGS to finally post some better pics of those.

This is really nice work. I particularly like the coven raider, great idea, well executed.
The whole colourscheme I like and the army sits together really well.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Played that game(oh my, I should really read the mission being played! Mad ) today. While the game didn't go well, I was able to pick up my Coven models that I didn't have decent pictures of.
Haemi:

And his little friends:

The Coven models were the only things that did their job in the game. Might have to paint up some more of these guys...

On another positive note, I did pick up one of the Battlefoam Ravager/Raider inserts. These are really nice. I am going to have to look into which of the cases that I would need to fit the models that I will be most likely to take to tournaments. I highly recommend the pre-cut foam for Raiders/Ravagers, and can't wait to pick up the Venom/Reaver/Talos tray as well.

If anyone has experience with these feel free to comment.

Your models look rediculous...

...ly awesome! They are so good, that I am jealous. My wife and I have some serious work ahead of us.

To note: Your Hemi + Friends are unbelievably good. I want to throw a small child, they're so good.

I don't know what this means, but I like it! Twisted Evil Thanks for the complement on my Coven models. Those models were a crap ton fun to paint. I will be painting my other unit of Wracks and my Grotesques in the near future. I just ordered some bits to do another Coven Raider soon. cheers

WOW.

Those are just WOW! I don't think I have seen any wracks that impress me quite as much as yours do.

On another note. I have Battle foam DE trays. Love them. I'm not super impressed with the hellion one, but I think it has more to do with my hellions build rather than the foam.

Thanks GAR.
Painting ADD has struck again. I had so much fun with my Wracks in the game that I played on Saturday that I'm hot on painting Coven models again...I think my Talos has been staring at me for months now. Slapped these little guys together this morning. The Acothyst was the left over model from my first two boxes of Failcast that GW replaced. I had to replace the right hand with a Wyche knife and thought that he needed some extra limbs.

I might get motivated enough to convert the other Grots if I paint the first one.

Nice work ESE,

Care to go into a quick walkthrough on how you created your bases? It looks like sand plus some other "random stuff"

The coven units look great just like the rest of your stuff. Was thinking same about the bases, they look really cool and interesting.

Where did you get the foam for your Raiders? Approx how expensive was it and what sort of 'box' does those foam things go in? That looks really safe and would love to get me a case like that.

I sure could. I should have something up in a couple of days. (I have some papers to write tonight Mad )
It really is pretty basic and doesn't cost much at all. I'll post it here or in the painting/modeling section as a tutorial? And yes-it is some cut up random stuff and Railroad Scenics ballast. Drybrush, wash, done. They're really simple to do.

@Cirian- Battlefoam.com

Their foam is pretty awesome. I'll pick up a case once I figure out what all I plan on transporting around.

These are really looking great, I'm getting a will of painting some wracks as well when I see yours. Regretting a little though about what skin colour I chose for my army...

edit: yay 500th post!
