I was thinking more in terms of other aircraft. It's rather hard to imagine Ork Boyz managing to assault a Voidraven. Or indeed a Voidraven successfully assaulting a unit of Ork Boyz.

Voidraven and Razorwing could have something like Bladevanes or Vector Strike, but wouldn't lock or be locked in combat.

I really hope not, it would be so bad and unfluffy.
And consider what would happen do a craft moving several times the speed of sound even slightly touching another vehicle...

In the warzone Valedor expansion, several Razorwings use their... ehem... Razor (sharp) Wings to cut feeding tendrils from a hive fleet to Ribbons.

If they can slice through dozens of metres worth of chitinous armour (armour that can shrug off a salvo from an Imperial Battleship, mind) then it should be able to shred a Stormtalon in two. Or at least jag the pointed wing through the glass window of the cockpit and eviscerate the marine piloting the bulky, flying box.

^^^This!

I mean their wings should be bladed for a reason, no?
They probably have monomolecular edges or something like that.

And remember, Razorwing Jetfighter Steersmen are just stinking, filthy rich Reaver Jetbikers. A Razorwing is just a bigger, faster, more heavily armed Reaver Jetbike.

As for Voidravens...

I'm just hoping for a -2 BS modifier for anyone trying to shoot at it. You know, to actually represent the stealth tech that is 'bordering on sorcerous'.

Just saw this posted on dakkadakka:

Quote :
The "Fly" keyword applies to both true flyers and units that were classically designated as skimmers, such as the Devilfish. It is also the trigger keyword for anti-air or air-to-ground effects. For example, the Renegade Knight's autocannon array has a +1 vs. the Fly keyword and -1 vs. anything without it.

"True" flyers, like the T'au Sunshark, have a set of rules that basically replicate the current flyer mechanics. They have a minimum movement in their profile, the Supersonic rule which requires them to pivot up to 90 degrees before moving, and are Hard to Hit (-1 to hit them). They are also Airborne, and thus cannot be charged or fought by anything without the Fly keyword (and vice versa). Note that this does open the door up to interesting situations like an Eldar Falcon attempting to clip a Thunderbolt in midair. Note that with a minimum move and restricted turning, flyers will have to work very hard not to go off the map and be destroyed.

There are also some flyers that do not get these rules, notably the Helldrake. It has no minimum move or movement-restricting special rules, so is very mobile at the cost of being easier to engage- although since it has the Fly keyword and gains a bonus against airborne targets, it is still an antiair threat. This seems to be the paradigm they are applying to "slower" flyers, possibly including winged daemon princes or tyranids.

The one unanswered question is how they'll be handling Hover Mode vehicles like the Valkyrie.

Assuming it's correct, it looks like most flyers won't be able to charge or be charged.

So the answer to my question is yes, my Razorwing Jetfighter can charge a Necron Monolith.

I want off Mr. Bones Wild Ride.

@TeenageAngst

Fun Fact!

Wind chimes are made from the metallic bones of robots that tried to overthrow us.
Hang them outside your house as a warning to the others.

On the bright side, all our skimmers and jump pack people got upgraded to anti-air.

I always felt like Scourges should have had a better chance at shooting down fliers, given their ability to, well, fly.

Happy to see that Hellions can charge a plane and hack it to bits. Twisted Evil I don't even care if that's realistic, I just love the idea!

All our skimmers get an additional -1 to hit them with 90% of shooting weapons. Shocked

Stop talking. Where do I sign?  Very Happy

EDIT - Seems I misread that.  Sad

Still hopeful we get that -1 to hit from some peice of wargear or SR

Good morning denizens of the city of pain and agony, here is a set of news for Dark Eldar to be frowned upon :

Power from pain is now dependant on turn
turn 1: 6+ fnp
2: +1 to hit
3: reroll run and charge
4: ignore battleshock
5: -1 to enemy leadership.

If the rumor is true, it will be sweet.

If that table is true, then we are going to have FUN.

I'd still hope that Covenites have some way of improving their FNP, but this looks wicked.

"Brother Mathius of the Ultramarines! There is a pointy boat rapidly approaching from our Stern."

"A boat you say, but we are hundreds of metres above the ground! Is it firing at us?"

"No, and it does not appear to be slowing down."

"Evasive Maneu-!"

Archon Kaelis 'Ionahd of the Dannan Beccareth allowed himself a bloodless grin as the flying Mon'Keigh box split about the prow of his favoured craft.

"Good show steersman, good show!"

I'm going to guess that the +1 to hit is for melee only.

If not, fun times ahead. Twisted Evil

Maybe the bonuses are cumulative from PFP... Or I am hoping for too (twofold) much.

An extra 2" per turn... Hardly anything to write home about.
