Anyone else noticed that little tidbit in there about the Harlequins? How they "leap and bound" over the battlefield ... That could point to the eldar in general having higher movement stats ... Unless they meant "leap and bound" relevant to a Terminator that I'm pretty sure has a 5" movement so we could expect Harlequins to get 8-10" movement which seeing as DE and Craftworld are just slightly slower would put them at about 7-9" movement without vehicles ... However we may be stuck with 6" movement all around and find that out vehicles because, fast, skimmer, open topped and possibly a return of Aireal‚Äč assualt gives us 8-12" or more movement on top of what we walk so I honestly don't think our standard troops having the same movement as space Marines will be a hindrance so long as our vehicles can move a bit faster than others
I believe Pete Foley has already said on Twitter that you can charge from Deep Strike and out of all vehicles. What I expect to find is that the Venom and Raider is now capable of going much faster than the Rhino, Devilfish or even Wave Serpant. Given that we also know that there will be no more unit types I fully epect things like Fast and Open Topped to be resigned to the past.

Honestly the way people are complaining about Space Marines being no faster than they currently are makes me wonder if people forget that we play on 6x4, not 1x1.

Thats one of the things I was saying too, sense we haent seen the rules yet we cant make any judgements.

Open-topped would still be useful for shooting purposes, and for determining exit points on a vehicle. Having unlimited firing points on a vehicle, and the ability to exit from any point is a good thing, even if all other vehicles can be assaulted from.

True, but I imagine that'll be sorted out in a different way to the current vehicle types.

I surmise that if you charge out a non assault / open topped vehicle you won't get to always go first. But you would if you charge from an assault vehicle. All that would take is the keyword assault vehicle and open topped

Looks like PSychic is using sort of the AoS system:

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/04/28/new-warhammer-40000-psychic-phase/

Powers have a rating, roll two dice, beat the score. Better results for higher rolls.
Cast a number of powers equal to "mastery level" but renamed.
Opponent Psykers within 24" can dispell in a similar method.

Faction specific lores, plus at least one generic spell - Smite - for all (but I'd guess more such as Force).

Says ALL Factions getting a lore, but I guess thats a typo. Unlike we, Tau and Necrons would get one.....

I think whether or not it is OP depends on how bad other things are, and how common it is. A lot of potential for abuse though.

I doubt we will get "psychic" powers but maybe we will get Haemonculus augmentations or some such.

Personally I don't mind we don't do anything like a psyker does but I've seen a lot of people on other forum say that everyone should have "psyker" like abilities.

I don't necessarily like the idea of every faction having psychic abilities, but I like the idea of each faction having something that gives them some fun stuff to do/works as a force multiplier.

For some factions (Eldar) that should be psychic powers. For others it's fitting to have other things, like Markerlights and Doctrina Imperatives.

Really, for Dark Eldar is should have been Power from Pain taking the precise form of the new Strength from Death rule IMO.

D3-D6 wounds isn't that OP if the wounds go to a model and not the unit, as with weapons. However, it is a useful characterkiller. With commandpoints you could probably get a better buff to negate the wounds. We also dont know how many wounds our characters will have in the new ed.

Indeed. However, I think Psychic "like" powers could work wonderfully for our Haemonculi. Of course, they would need some twists and Psykers should not be allowed to lower the effectiveness of our "covenite" abilities. Personally, I incorporated this in my own codex and I think it is pretty fluffy.

The same applies to Necrons, as they are described to use technology so far advanced that it seems like magic to outsiders. So, why don't we actually let them do that?

I could easily see mandrakes using shadowmancy or some such drawing from aelindrach instead of the warp. Or haemonculus releasing tortured souls in a directed blast could easily be represented by the smite "spell".

Technology, sufficiently advanced, is indistinguishable from magic.

All the non psychic armies have sufficiently advanced tecg.

Tau could also draw from whatever pheremone control stuff they're doing with their guys and have a tree of almost exclusively buffs.

I do believe the Unit takes the wounds not just one model in the unit. Sort of how the flamer example worked.

Also this can be tactically hard to use if your opponent is smart. You cannot choose the target of the power. The target is the closest enemy unit, you are automatically in dispel range to use it, and we have no idea how command points can effect the psychic phase offensively or defensively (remember 1 per phase can be used).

Perhaps we will get an antipsycher field of powers. Powered by haemonculi creations. That would be sort of cool.

I think the rolling of two dice to pass a power seems like a nice change. If 5 is what you need for Smite and all Psykers have this power, I would assume 5 is the lowest probably for casting. I would think 8 or 9 might be on the high end for a Warp Charge 3+ equivalent powers as needing to roll a 9 or 10 would be rather difficult to do on a regular basis.

The debuff of 24'' range also might give some insight on the range of powers now. i imagine these new Command Points might play a role as well for Denying. We might also be back to Double 1's for Periling as well.

It does say every faction will get psychic powers, but I am with the above statements. We might get augments from the Haemonculus or Combat Drugs might be on a roll like Psychic Powers. It will be interesting to see.

The Warhammer Community mod(s) has already confirmed via responses to facebook comments that by, 'every faction', what is actually meant is 'every faction that has psykers'.. so obviously, this doesn't apply to Tau, Necrons, and Dark Eldar.

However, I am hoping that we will get some extra resistance to psychic powers in order to balance it out.

There are likely ways to save vs mortal wounds, like we have in AoS, probably something akin to feel no pain.

Think they will leave it that long? I surmise they will announce it at warhammer fest. Give another few days for rule announcements leave it a week or 2 to be and BAM
