You'll only get 3 per Reborn Warhost because of slot limitations. I'd be tempted to do 6 man squads, given how cheap they are.

I'd agree with Jimsolo, no sense going with min units if you're just running the reborn warhost. Now, if you allied a Realspace Raiders or CAD, and used those as a screen for you SfD reavers to kick off their Soulbursts, that might be an option.

6 with 2 caltrops and 2 blasters? Arena Champ?

What's the build?

I'd go 6 with 2 Caltrops, no Champ. If I had the points to burn, 2 Heat Lances. (With a very limited amount of fire, the Heat Lances seem more likely to make a vehicle go belly-up, and on a transport vehicle that will still give you the ability to get your more valuable charge off.)

I like the champion so long as they are holding a Cluster caltrop.

I'd be inclined to spread the special weapons out among ordinary reavers myself. That way you can't lose someone carrying a set of caltrops in a challenge. Plus if he dies, it hurts more, because your leadershio and attacks go down by one and you lose D6 HoW hits.

Reaverspam works very well with ynarri rules. Very Happy

Im thinking 2 reborn warhosts.
3x6 and 3x3.
CC of course and, if pts allow, some blasters or heatlances. Cool

On the flip side, you can Look out Sir any wounds that he takes on a 4+ and he can use the caltrops in a challenge.

There are pros and cons to the CC on the reaver champ.
Its up to the individual if those pros are worth an extra 10pts per unit. study

Either way reaverspam works with ynarri rules.

That hadn't occurred to me. That actually makes putting him at the front of the unit to try and guarantee caltrops getting in more viable. I'll be right back, I just have to rip some bits off some... things. Laughing

yeah, thats what I thought. Wink 9 units of 3 reavers, 3 will probably get a first turn charge. if the enemy don't wipe them, 2 more units each are coming their way. Shocked

Even then, I would still make my Ynnari reavers larger units if possible, since there is a limited number of FA slots, it makes more sense to me to put more models into those units, and it also allows you to spread more to pick up soulbursts more easily.

I've thought about using 3 man squads with just caltrops. Turbo boosting them directly into the opponent and using them to get the Yncarne in early as more than likely one unit will be destroyed.

I don't like the idea of putting the Yncarne that deep without some back up though.

His back up is more reaver units.
