How many leadership debuffs can you put into an army with Ynnari, Coven and all other True Kin, Harlequins and Craftworld Eldar units?

I also have Shadow Spectres.

And what would be most efficient?

Armour of misery, grotesquerie, shadowseer with mask of secrets and then shoot something with a death heater. I think that is -7LD if you manage to stack everything?

I thought i read something about the Visarch or someone having a Sword that forces enemy units to take their lowest leadership.
Is that correct?
I don't have the book.

Also does the Death jester force pinning tests?

@Marrath yes the visarch forces unit to take lowest leadership so that would be a welcome addition! One of the modes on the DJs gun is pinning yes

A Shadow Spectre unit with Exarch forces enemy units in 12" to roll an additional D6 and take the two highest results for leadership tests. What a Face

I feel like the problem with the Visarch is that he takes up a precious HQ slot that a freakshow list wants for other HQs (y'know, with armor of misery, mask of secrets, psychic shriek, and such).

But, hey, maybe in a 2000pt list?

@marrath well damn! To be fair I think the chances of actually getting all of these modifiers off in the same place at the same time are pretty low, but I guess it gives you a good solid base of shenanigans accross the board and if you manage to pull the all off at the same time, rolling 3d6 on your lowest leadership value at -7....oh man your opponent will hate you as you laugh at them

The visarch can be taken as the HQ choice in a covenite coterie providing the freakish spectacle -1.

@Vlad Psychic Shriek is peanuts. Mirror of Minds is the prize. Autokill anything with a toughness.

Mirror of Minds with a -5 or better Ld modifier is marvelous.  You get to watch someone's face as they realize that there is literally nothing on Earth that can prevent their MC (or, sweet Vect I pray I see it someday--a GMC) from dying screaming.

There are some other Ld negatives that are possible to get, too.  A Warlock Conclave can get Horrify (-3 Ld), whichever psyker you brought for Psychic Shriek can get Terrify (-1), each of your Covens formations is still -1 of course, and you can bring Hemlock Wraithfighters for a -2 on most Ld tests.

I'm kind of hemming and hawing waiting for an FAQ for FoBT, but if we get one soonishly I'll try to start work on a new Freakshow article.

Hemlock Wraithfighter Mindshock Pods do not apply to leadership tests, only morale tests.

Morale, pinning, and fear but in that case you might as well be 100% correct as far as it matters.

The FAQ is badly worded. As written, it doesn't stack between Covenite Coterie detachments. If you have the hard copy, then now the formations don't get Freakish Spectacle at all. If you have the digital copy, then it continues to function as it did, save for Coteries.

Banshees and Dire Avengers may be with a second look. Probably not great, but Banshees have a -2 leadership ability in the exarch and the dire sword is there.

Only for the end of fight morale check, and since in most cases that target will have ATSKNF that's sort of useless. DA sword though maybe.

Wouldn't it apply to Fear checks as well?

Yep, and I suppose any other forced checks that don't care about the target being locked in combat, I just don't generally consider those into my plans because of the sheer amount of atsknf/fearless. Do you feel that Fear is useful?

Ironically, in casual play rarely, but in tournament play, it gets more useful the further you go.

Tau, Necrons, and Eldar are all very competitive, and Fear is useful against them. ATSKNF armies are by far the most common type of army, but my experience has been that they rarely take first place in tournaments.

I think I like having it as an additional card to play, definitely. It's one of those rules where I can't point to specific games where it's been the deciding factor, but I think it frequently contributes to my assault units killing their targets with more speed and fewer wounds in return, which keeps them going for longer.

Side note: I knew the answer at one point but can't seem to track down the rule specifically. Do daemons chosen from Codex: Chaos Daemons automatically pass Fear checks? I know KDK are Fearless, and I know that C:CD have a different rule that lets them auto pass Morale and Pinning tests, but I can't recall anything about Fear. For a second I thought Daemons might auto pass them, but I don't see that in the rulebook either.

FoBT? Not familiar with that acronym.

Also, I think you might be missing one other element of why mirror of minds is so good. It's a focussed witchfire power, which means you pick the target model in a unit if you roll more successes than necessary. This means you can single out your opponent's warlord as "your target", and while they can "look out, sir!" individual wounds from the warlord to other models, that doesn't chance who "your target" is, which means that if they use "look out, sir!", you kill his other model and STILL continue to keep rolling against "your target's" leadership. When you get enough of a leadership modifier against your opponent to make it impossible for them to win, this basically means that they can't use "look out, sir!" without their entire unit, including the warlord dying. Essentially, if you make it impossible for them to win the contested leadership roll, mirror of minds will auto-kill any model in the game(even if they have 2++ rerollable) when cast on warp charge 3+.

That's because it's the newest one: Fracture of Biel-tan.
