Deathsong, the Mirror Gaze, and the Lost Shroud could be good. They stand out as particularly good choices for Harlequins characters, since they can be taken in your Troops or Elites slots instead of the valuable HQ choice, where artifacts like the Armor of Misery and Spirit Stone are far more useful. Although the Mask of Secrets is probably more useful, you can still theoretically take the Mask as well as every single one of these artifacts in a single detachment. That being said, the locket and the sword are pretty much just gravy picks, (unless you have an exceedingly Aeldari heavy meta--I can go almost a whole year and not see any outside of a tournament) and the Soulsnare is atrocious.

The Shroud seems like it would be particularly nice for a Solitaire.

i was thinking the Corag Hai's Locket for the solitaire. letting him regain his wounds after he used his crazy movement thing the shroud is good too though maybe better. I am not sure how to evaluate the the Mirror Gaze?

The sword looks like it'd be good on a Solitaire for me - replace the kiss and then you could alternate between the caress for vehicles/high armour enemies and the blade for low armour peeps. Really I'm just looking at the fleshbane, the anti Aeldari thing is just gravy.

I'm wondering about Mirror Gaze on a Death Jester - assuming the effects apply to his gun. Otherwise... eh.

Almost all of Ynnari relics shine the brightest on a Solitaire.

The list I was tinkering with had the Lost Shroud on a Troupe Master (my Warlord) for added survivability and the Locket on a Solitaire.

Bear in mind that all of the solitaire's weapons currently work at the same time, and that if you swap one out, you're losing that synergy.

The FAQ has ruled that weapons that confer an ability to the "bearer" work even on turns in which you don't choose to use that weapon.

Well yeah but you're really just talking about the one "free" attack. The above approach implies they understand that and find fleshbane to be more lucrative, I'm not sure I agree since I'm thinking that an Archon would be a better option for that sort of a dual wielding platform. Sword, Shadowfield, Haywire grenade. 120pts. Puts out 5 attacks before the charge against people and 2 over a turn against vehicles all 2+.

I think the shroud is probably the best item on a solitaire. FnP and It will not die on a model that has all those special rules and damage output is funny, if a bit overpriced.

The fact that he already has eternal warrior is probably counterbalanced by the fact that he also already doesn't have the "independent character" rule to lose.

Another use of the shroud would be on a character in a seer council, since they're part of a unit that they may not leave regardless of the IC rule. It's a shame named characters can't take it. Eldrad would be a prime candidate in a foot council.

Shroud could be fun too - am definitely considering it. I also never thought about those odd formations where the IC rule can't apply, that's also certainly a good point!

Blind on a death jester sure looks nice against necrons and orks, but 30 pts is a lot!

If a character has the blind rule, does it apply to their guns?

The wording is vague, and I'm not sure of any other situation where a character, as opposed to a weapon, has the Blind rule. However, I hesitantly think that yes, a character with Blind would still get the Blind effect on their ranged shots.

I think the rule is quite clear:

"Any unit hit by one or more models or weapons with this special rule must take an Initiative test at the end of the current phase."

And the Mirrorgaze gives the blind rule to the wearer.

Hmm that could be nice on a Reaper launcher autarch against Crons... But quite expensive!

I actually think there may have been a FAQ or something that addressed this at one point. I seem to recall it being an issue once, but it could have been a different rule, like rending or something.

I can't really remember the relics much and I don't have my book handy, but the only one that stood out for me was the lost shroud. Give it to a solitaire and he gains more than he losses. Fnp and it will not die makes him a good damage dealer and can take a beating in return.

Sword is kinda meh with the alderri rule but fleshbane is nice, can't remember what ap it is though.

Nothing. That's why I'm standing by shadowfield archon is probably it's best platform. 120pts for 5 fleshbane attacks plus the charge on a 2++ platform with a very good weapon skill seems very reasonable. Especially if you need a tank for your fortune star. Note: 115 if you don't take the haywire grenade

The shroud on the shadow seer in a heroes path (or DJ I guess) could be useful.

Likewise - adding it to a cast of players could be very handy
