 Raider raming.

so the idea was this....

Take a raider will it with grots and a high leadership HQ ex. heamonculus
take aethersails and a shock prow.
turn 1 move 12 inches then ram it straight into the biggest stupid thing or vehicle they have. (trying to get a side hit and clip 2-3 troops in the process.

1 of 3 things will happen
1 - your paper boat will explode letting you then can charge on turn 1 (assuming you pass your rolls witch you should) (due to a loop hole i believe)
or
2 - you pen there 300 point thing and clip some troops along the way all while getting your guys into position.
or
3 some combination

i think regardless what happens most people would be happy with the outcome. only thing i dont know is can a flat out move be made as a ram/tank shock.

maybe this isn't the wisest maneuver but compared to a wwp at 35 points. 35 points more to cause havoc and stress to an enemy seems worth it. sorry that this is kinda a rules/ tactic question. wasn't sure where to post it

Tank shock and ram happen in the move phase so it's 12" max move

Also, you missed option 4. They move out of the way, then the enemy surrounds your boat and destroys it during their turn. Since there is no way off the boat, you lose hundreds of points with no saves or FNP.

Massaen speaks correctly.

Tank Shock and Ram happen in the movement phase. Flat Out (and thus the use of the Enhanced Aethersail) happen in the Shooting Phase.

Also, Tank Shock and Ram has to be a single move in a straight line.

Oh how the game would change if we could flat out as a tank shock/ram maneuver! I think this would go a long way towards justifying the cost of fast skimmers that I think are generally overpriced now compared to their non-skimmer counterparts.

It WAS! I totally wish it worked that way. I thought it worked that way when I first read about ramming too. Woulda been awesome. I sincerely think they should MAKE it work that way. It'd make the game more dynamic and actiony. Is actiony a word? Wink

'Member when "Flat Out" wasn;t a thing, and we just has a....what......36" move basic? Or was it 24"? SOmething like that.
