So do we have a time-frame? What was the wait between the first fail of Cadia rumors and release?

@Ynneadwraith I agree very much that the models grow on you. I think the Ynnead one is more let down by the colour scheme than the concept. A much darker scheme would suit the presumed fluff a lot better, and that magenta/cyan combo is really overused these days.

The Malys references on the Yvraine model are great. It makes most sense that Yvraine would be some kind of support character given we have a very obvious CC beatstick with The Visarch and a C'tan-esque blaster in Ynnead. Support rounds that out nicely. Malys as an anti-psyker would be pretty useful, especially with all the Tzeench sorcery floating about and clearly is the perfect foil for Magnus.

On the other hand Malys already has roles in the overthrow of Vect and as the avatar of Cegorach... it's cool fanservice but kind of a messy narrative to use her here too. Then again they did blow up Cadia so who knows?!

About 7-10 days I think.

I think you're bang-on with the colour scheme being the thing that's off slightly with the Avatar of Ynnead. I'm imagining it painted with black armour and it fits so much better.

Better still, do it all low-contrast bleached bone so it looks like a sort of wraithbone spectral apparition.

Damnit I'm going to have to buy two sets of these aren't I? I don't need to eat next month. I've watched Ray Mears. I can just forage off the land or something...

That's just tripped something in my head. There's definitely something about Cegorach's Grand Plan involving tricking Slaanesh into using her power to save the Eldar rather than destroy them...

I'm planning on doing a dark armour too. Black gloss armour base with green colour-shifting clearcoat. Basically looks dark metallic green, but sections shift to black from various angles. It basically highlights for you.

Then I'm going with a lighter, necron-type green/yellow for the eyes and the swirly magic stuff. Gold highlights for the metal around the gemstones and the eldar runes, and haven't decided on the spirit stones themselves yet. Probably mostly red for contrast.

Basically going to make it look like green/yellow energy inhabiting a suit of armour. I hope my meager painting skills can do the model justice.

That Ynnead Avatar looks awfully lot like a similarly posed shiny horned C'Tan...

As for Slaanesh connections AoS had a blurb where Tyrion and Malerion (Malekith is the name of a marvel character so GW changed it) found slaanesh in a cave full of aelf souls, gave zer a massive beating untill all the souls came out and that was the last anyone heard of the chaos god of titties.

Games workshop actually refer the model as a He, and a God, as opposed to she and goddess when they spoke about slaanesh. So following GWs lead, the model is male.

As for the time frame, most likely preorders will go up this Saturday and released the following. So two weeks is most likely when we'll get our hands on these. I'm hoping I have money for them.

Colour schemes, I'm just hoping I can paint these to a reasonable standard. My painting itself isn't great which is why most of my army is base coat plus edge highlight. Simples. Might try for a dark purple armour on the avatar and a blue for the soul essence. The sword guy will probably stay red since he'll fit with my army scheme but might change it to Mae him stand out better. Not sure about the woman, might make her a contrast or something. Bright and colourful.

And also GW cant pronounce names the same between videos either.

You cant trust what they say in videos/teasers.

Love the idea of a dark gloss black with green colour-shifting highlights! Sounds fantastic Smile

As for painting this model seems similar to the Sylvaneth range with lots of elevation changes in the modelling. They pretty much paint themselves which is fantastic for an amateur painter (like myself). Base coat + drybrushed lighter coat and they look phenomenal already Smile

Dark grey body,so you can play with shifting washes, before shifting highlights. Hair white, alla of my army is like this....as for the smoke\soul thing, i'd read it as opaque smoke, probably with a red violent osl on the inner "side". Stone is dark grey\brown, nothing like this creamish eldar thing.

Alternate take, heavy black body, light grey highlight, so to five a bit of 3d. Or drybrush. Shiny coat it to death. Smoke shifting from extremely light purple to extremely light red on the edge. Black shiny gemstones.

Hail the death god, listen to black metal.

Edit: not a pro, but think i can paint decently. Maybe i'll post something, recently started to redo my army completely.

edit: PAIN-t

They probably tried to sue Marvel for copyright infringement first though Very Happy

I'm hoping that the new guys will be similar to the Imperial Triumvirate in that they can be included as an HQ choice for any Eldar faction Combined Arms or Allied Detachments (specifically), regardless of faction. That way I can take one of them as a Harlequin HQ.

I'm really excited for these models, but cautiously so. Looking at the Yncarn I worry he's going to get rules opposite of Cawl, I.e. MC status but puny stats. This is really just based on the thought it is too big to stick with a squad, but I guess Celestine and Cawl both are at least as big.

I'm just really worried about the "why won't you people just play space marines" mentality of GW rules department.

Actually on that note, I feel kind of silly for not realizing it until now, but GW would probably sell both their kidneys to have everyone just play marines. They would save so much money.

What size base do we think (s)he's on?

I believe I saw a picture of the three of them together (maybe in the video) and it appears to be a dreadnought or wraithlord base at least.

I'm hoping for a proper glass cannon. Like an uber-solitaire. Leave the T6 whatever for the lumbering mon'keigh brutes. Give us something that will die to a hail of bolter fire if caught out in the open, but slippery as all hell to catch (Veil of Tears+), blindingly fast and dead killy.

I want the other player to blink once, and suddenly the squad he thought was safe on the other side of the board has been deleted before the perpetrator dances back into cover and away from the big guns.

Also, it's just struck me what the Eldar are doing with Ynnead. They're not activating some long-forgotten superweapon, they're literally birthing another Chaos God. No wonder their Avatar looks solidly chaotic.

Could we see something that echoes AoS slightly with a new unified faction lead by a God of Death, with the Eldar at the forefront. I'd be well up for that sort of direction for future Eldar fluff. It's a bit of a mix-up to have elven-archetypes at the head of a death-themed faction.

Reminds me of something I (think) I came up with for a fantasy story, although it's almost definitely lifting heavily from other stuff. Basically in this world, I came up with an elven faction called 'The Grey Courts'. These guys were your typical elves (with a few alterations, like making them essentially cuckoos but for humans), except their society was based around necromancy. When their nobles died, they resurrected them and these undead lords formed the leadership of their society, organising into noble undead houses called Grey Courts.

If this direction is what they go with I'll be so damn excited Smile even if they don't, I might do it anyway...

This is the best I've managed to find to give an indication of size.

I suspect the Visarch is actually quite large and could well be on a 32 or even 40mm base. The mad cat lady is on an oval base which I believe is 75mm by 42mm. The avatar is, by my reckoning on an 80mm round base.
