PostSubject: Fabius Bile & the Coalition of Covens army.   Thu Dec 22 2016, 18:16

t's been a while since I've been on this forum so I thought it was fitting to start posting again by showing my main army: Pure Haemonculi Covens!

I don't get to play the game very often but I am an avid hobbyist, Converter and painter. Haemonculi were my first 40k love even back in 3rd edition so over the years I have update my force with tons of new body parts and pieces I've collected over the years. A lot of these models are either built from whatever parts I had laying in my bits bags or form old undead/dark eldar boxes. The collection is a loose alliance of Haemonculus Covens led by Fabius Bile (Counts as Haemonculus) and The Prophets of Flesh.

So on to the Carnival of Flesh!

First, the raiding party's sadistic Cenobites and masterminds:

PostSubject: The Chemlord   Thu Dec 22 2016, 19:31

So we have the Chemlord in the Flesh, the Dark ally of the Coven: Fabius Bile
Rules-wise he will be a Haemonculus although I'm not sure what wargear I should give him as I'd like him to be as close to the "actual" Fabius as possible. This was a fairly minor conversion using some extra chiurgeon bits and talos blades along the other some green stuffing for the surgical mask. I'll post the WIP pics when I get some more time.

The next thing will be some pics of the actual Coven Lords close up, Wracks, Talos and maybe even some of my Grotesques.

My Group of Haemonculi have an eerie obsession with the tech-Adepts of Mars, often seizing Mechanicus specimines for torture and horrific experimentation. This particular group of Haemonculi loves the morphing of Eldar and Human Archeotech within their own Fleshforms and all manner of humans and alien species. Most of their Wracks and grotesques are crafted from various body parts and corpses from hundreds of different life forms.

Here are the Closeups of the Coven lords.
From top to bottom: (Cronthysit Viirak of the Prophets of Flesh, Hervanus Bosch of the Altered, Valonian Ciratrix of the Hex, and Vorax Thysk of the Ebon Sting)

A nice little collection of lunatics.
The tech priest conversion is really cool.

Thanks, Scrz.

Here's a picture of my latest little project. My Urien Rakarth Conversion: (note he still needs a little fleshy green stuffing)

Also a sneak peak at my Covens' minions: the Wracks.

I will have close up pictures of each wrack soon. My main mission for this army was one thing: each and every model will be its own unique individual from the lowliest wrack to the most horrid pain engine. Also hopefully I'll paint Urien Rakarth in decent time.

Managed to get the Covens on a Realspace raid and took some pics. There's a few good shots of the Coven Lords with their minions fighting Dark Angels Space Marines.

Here's some Close ups of some specific Minions including a Lobotomized Astartes-Wrack, Undead Wrack and An Avian Chrono-Harlequin Grotesque.

Next post will have a Talos Pain Engine and Grotesques!

PostSubject: Grotesques and TALOS    Mon Dec 26 2016, 19:50

Thank you, Ynnead!

Here's some more creations from the crypt...

More Wrack close ups (sorry about the lighting in this pictures )

And here are lose ups of my Grotesques!!

And last, but not least the first Talos Pain Engine:

Please tell me what you think. I'll post up the WIP of my next Pain Engine engines and Grotesques.
The Project after that will be Converting a squad of Fabius Biles' Enhanced Warriors as I have decided to take Fabius Bile and a squad of marines as an Allied detachment for the force.

Lovley conversions! I have to ask what model is used for the really tall thin Haemonculus? I think his name was Cronthysit Viirak of the Prophets of Flesh? Is he still for sale or is he gone?

Thank you, Rhivan!

Viirak's base model is actually a war machine figure... I can't for the life of me remember the exact model (I got him a few years back) but I think it was a Cephalyx or Cephallix? (I'm not sure about the spelling). He was a minor Conversion with a lot of green stuff in his back and arms to make him more fleshy and a few Dark Eldar Wyche Bits.

Been a few weeks but I got some stuff done. I played some small Warband battles & I painted Fabius Bile's personal Land Raider. (I just got into Game of Thrones and couldn't help my self lol).

Fabius Bile's "Manflayer" Land Raider:

Quick pic from the Warbands battle:

Tell me what you guys think. Next up on the list are the "New Man" conversions and a Dark Eldar Maulerfiend & Talos Hybrid Machine!

Love it Smile and the warbands shot of horrible gribblies is really really cool Smile

Always been a fan of Fabius Bile. It's my personal headcanon that he's a surviving member of one of the lost legions. One of the emperor's traits that's missing from the Primarchs is that of the biomancer/scientist, so it makes sense that one of the missing Primarchs specialised in that.

After experimenting wildly on his marines to the point they were unrecognisable his legion was purged. Any remaining initiates/neophytes that were recognisably human were mind-wiped and disseminated out to the other legions. One of which was our own favourite Fabulous Bill.

Just my headcanon, but it fits Smile he's so radically different from the rest of the Emperor's Children it makes sense that he'd be from a completely different legion altogether.

Thank you all for the kind words! I have some WIP stuff: Fabius Bile's Fabulously Enhanced Warriors.

Also I have some more pics of another Warband Battle with one of my good buddies' and his Dark Angels. It's pretty crazy how much our collections contrast each other lol.

Next up will be some painting progress on the Enhanced Warriors and the Talos/Flesh Engine hybrid.

Fabulous indeed Smile you've definitely managed to make them look like a bunch of genetic experiments.

Love the contrast between the two armies as well. Really plays up the 'humanity vs the terrors of the universe' feel of 40k Smile

The Blanche influence is definitely strong here.  I guess that's why 40k is such a screwed up world - a lot of these creations could just as easily be from the OT of a loyal Techpriest as from something Chaotic.  The mecha-skeletons are probably my favourite.  I was thinking about an undead fantasy army but this is a much more interesting take on the undead, or semi-dead - well whatever they are - they're fabulous!

Yeah they're fantastically twisted Smile

I'd recommend checking out The Green Mechanicum for an example of just how twisted a loyalist Ad Mech army can get Smile similarly brilliant in aesthetic to these twisted gribblies Smile

Thank you all very much! I really love the traditional look of 40k through the eyes of Blanche and Jes Goodwin's pieces and conceptual sketches respectively. 40k truly is the "Dark Ages in Space" so it's only fitting that most factions, whether "good" or "bad" will all be very grim and fueled by horror. Personally the whole idea of Fabius Bile's continuation of the Great Crusade through his twisted eyes is terrifying and oddly noble.
