@The Red King, can you post a total SP worth of your Kabal? You are certainly beating my Coven at the Games this season, I can only hope for a nice CC oriented battle for my final Raid Wink

So far in my experience every Ork general is a great guy, and really fun to play against. If only their armies didnt collapse on themselves half way across the board... Oh well, at least we are not the bottom of the barrel quite yet Razz

Or did you mean the total cost if I used my entire Kabal?

But yeah. He was a great guy. It was a fun game. At one point his nob fell back with his 2 remaining members. The nob rallies his unit by hitting and killing everyone else in the unit besides himself lol.

I mean your net worth (Total SP gained in raids - SP spent on raid - 10 SP loan). My Coven is sitting at 12 SP Net Worth after my second raid, I think you are about triple that right now.

Here are my full notes. In case I made an error.

1 Dark Artisan - 10 chaos marines CC, -

1 wraith seer - dead,1 hq CC, 5 terminators CC, -

1 wraith blades - 1 vehicle CC, 7 marines CC

1 archon - dead, -

1 court of the archon - dead, 1 unit, 1 unit

1 raider- dead, dead

1 blasterborn - 1 renegade knight, trukk, 1 battle wagon

1 imperial bastion


Game 1 surrender - +4
Game 2 surrender - +7

The 11 points in surrenders covers my 11 regeneration costs. (3 per hq lost plus the 1 for the raider twice)

The majority of my points are the 3 assaults in game 1 including the HQ who died in CC.

So after the 15 point loan is paid back that leaves me 18 points in profit with 1 more game to add to it. It looks like it will be Tau though so I don't expect many CC points out of it.

Sorry for the 5 edits. Just wanted to add that I'm happy for any corrections and just let me know if any of my notes need clarification.

Thanks to a subtle prod by Fisheyes we've now got the league table up and running! Edited into the first post.

Cycle 1 of Vect's Age of Plenty
So far, the Kabalites of the Bleeding Hand are strutting around the higher reaches of Commorragh, bragging of their recent exploits and brandishing necklesses fashioned from greenskin fingers...

However, the Covenites of Gilded Mirth know that it's all still to play for. Their haul was nearly as great, and the Dark Bards will be singing of their next raid for cycles to come...

Any chance we could confine the participants posts to this thread to reduce spam and make it easier for you to keep track of everyone's points? Perhaps update the original post to instruct participants to post here instead of in a different thread?

Delay after delay set me back, but my 3rd raid proved more successful than the other 2 combined I believe. I will post the exact changes in points written out so I can be corrected if I make a mistake.

My list was unchanged, shuffled a few upgrades around but no changes in units.

My opponent brought a world eaters chaos warband. With:

1 lord in termie armor with the artifact that made him move/charge 3+ inches.
5 terminators (with the lord)
3 chaos bikes
2 squads of 10 khorne marked marines (1 in rhino 1 on foot)
5 havoc with 2 auto canons in a rhino
1 daemon prince

Raptor Talon with
5 raptors with special weapon×2
5 warp talons
1 jump pack lord

The mission was contact lost? Hammer and anvil either way and I had first turn, no night fight. I deployed everything holding no reserves with the knowledge he would be up close very quickly. He deployed aggressively along his table edge.
I had turn 1 and his 2d6 moves moved every non vehicle 8 inches closer to me except the prince who rolled a 4.

My opening volley from 2 venom and the 5 guys inside caused 4 wounds to his prince... before saves... only 1 got through. My 3rd venom however caused 8 wounds killing the prince for first blood and 4 SP (3 for HQ 1 for shooting). My last venom having no other targets decided to pot shot his bikes and killed all 3 of them for another 1 SP.

My wraithseer fired off his D cannon (only 1 time as for the rest of the game the targets were danger close) and killed a terminator. Shots from my raider and DA killed 2 more. Leaving his lord, sergeant and 1 other.

His turn 1 shooting does little but his assaults go well. A long charge from his lord kills a venom (-1 SP) and the explosion kills 3 of the occupants. They pass both leadership tests and proceed to be quite manly all game. His footslogging marines charge my wraithblades and kill 4 of them taking no wounds in return, but being fearless he holds.

Oh his rhino squad immobilized themselves in cover and then rolled a 2 and a 1 to disembark through difficult.

It was a rough turn for him.

My turn 2 I pull most everything back to focus fire his termies and lord. My archon and court jump out to kill the marines who charged my blades.

Shooting unfortunately kills all the terminators before I can charge them with my DA or wraithseer. Still between the unit and the Lord I score 5SP (3+1 for lord, 1 for unit).

My archon charges in and between them all kill 7 of 10 marines for 7SP. Massive.

His turn 2 all of his raptors show up. 1 unit scatters into the manly Kabalites from the wreck and go into ongoing reserves. They also pass the blind test from the talons. What men.

The talons multi charge 2 venom, blowing up 1 (-1SP) and killing 2 of the trueborn. In combat the court finishes off the last 3 marines for 3 more SP. The dark artisan is charged by his other raptors and lord, losing 1 to overwatch and 2 more in CC (+2SP). His lord fails to wound the haemy after FNP and takes 1 wound in return.

My turn, shooting kills 2 of the talons (leaving 3 to eventually die in CC to my seer for 3SP). My DA kills the 2 remaining raptors and lord in CC for 6SP (2 for raptors, 4 for the Lord).

His turn sees nothing of note except the last warp talon dying (noted above) and he calls it with only 2 rhinos, 9 marines 5 havoc and 5 raptors left. Granting me +5SP (5 units remaining at surrender).

A grand total of 34 SP due to a high number of HQ and CC kills. Khaine was surely pleased by the blood gods impotent fury at the slaughter of his most loyal.

A more concise look at the points.
10 marines CC
4 prince Shooting
4 lord Shooting
4 lord CC
4 raptors CC
1bikes shooting
1 terminators shooting
3 warp talons CC
5 surrender
-2 losses

34 total. Making this raid worth my first 2 combined +2.

Wow, that was a solid raid! One thing to note, we agreed that vehicles dying do not cost you SP (so those lost venoms are "free" for you).

Glad to see you were cleaving through the forces of the Blood God. Those new Traitor Legions have gotten better though, wouldent you agree?

The genetically enhanced brute railed against its chains, howling with incandescent rage as the Bleeding Hand Kabalite lazily flicked the agoniser against its skin.

"We have dozens and dozens more like him, chained in our holds. We tested one against a Khymaera we captured and it headbutted it to death. They will make most amusing pit-fighters I assure you..."

"Most amusing indeed! One of our prized fighters has recently escaped and is now calling himself Archon. Perhaps we will unleash them on him..."

Meanwhile, deep within the bowels of Commorragh, a twisted intelligence performs her first masterpiece. Twisted creations of bone and flesh take their first shuddering breaths of the cool dank air. A new terror to unleash on the lesser beings of the galaxy...

Not to nitpick but the leader board updated my games but not points lol

Also I was told vehicles are free to replace? Shall I go back and calculate that change manually or will one of the "judges?" Be doing that?

No worries, through my 4 games I lost the hq raider twice for 2 points and a venom in each of my other 2 games.
My vehicles tend to be fairly low on the target list for my regular opponents.

So 38 would be the new total?

Thank you again.

Is there any word on when this closes out? I would like to see a few more contenders added and if I may suggest that those willing (I among them) be asked to provide their own fluff blurbs, within a provided writing prompt of course.? There is nothing wrong with what you came up with but it might avoid a bit of awkward explaining on the part of the player if it doesn't match their own theme.

Oops. You marked me as 4 games. It was just the 3 lol.

Vect was pleased. Truly a cause for much celebration to the rank and file of the Bleeding Hand. Many of the ruinous powers slaves were collected for the arenas and many more rendered down to decorate the husk of a fallen "knight". A gift to the Supreme overlord. Vect was pleased, and so, the halls rang with celebration. A term among the kin which bears little in common with what the lesser races called the same.

In the inner sanctum however all was silent. The elite knew better, the constant raids, the grandiose gifts, they were only to buy more of the Supreme Lord's patience with these "relics of a bygone age". For here in the sanctum the Bleeding Hand revered their namesake, Khaela Mensha Khaine, and the Bloody-handed god was not pleased.

In a black chamber lit by a hellish glow the Archon Yar'ron Menshala found himself doing something foreign to the senses of most of the true kin. He knelt before another and reflected on his failure. The moment flashed in his mind, a thunderous blow, a trust, mis-placed, not in the skill of his blade, but in the artifice of mortals. His grave injury at the hands of a mere pawn had left him too wounded to properly join in the sport-slaughter of the greenskin brutes, and though he avenged himself on many a slave to the false god of war, Khorne, his honor was stained.

So he knelt before the statue of Khaine with his left hand held before him. He would burn away the weakness of that moment and reclaim his honor in the name of his god. With a roar Yar'ron sliced his hand from his body without flinching. With purposeful stride he approached the statute to Khaine and with no hesitation stepped into the molten blood pouring from it. Yar'ron refused to scream in this moment as his body was purified in Khaine's wrath.

The gathered Incubi reverently picked up the gauntlet within which lay the last mortal remains of their archon, placing it into his empty suit of archaic armor before taking position around the room.

The first of the captured marines was brought in and given his crude axe. The mountain of rage and flesh cut down the weapon slave and charged the nearest incubus, an unstoppable mass of pure fury. He died within seconds his life blood seeping into channels carved into the floor that ran directly to the statute at the far end of the shrine.

The Klaivex looked into the eyes of the statute as if seeking a sign, satisfied he spoke one word, "again". Many more would die a warriors death in the fortnight to come and their Archon would return if their God deemed him worthy. For honor, for blood, for Khaela Mensha Khaine.

Alright so I've finally been able to get in some games going. I've done 2 kill team games (We're using the rules set from HoR but the list style of Kill Team as we realized Battlescribe didn't have HoR and we didn't plan our lists in advance) games with my friend who is getting into 40k (He plays Orks so I'm ROLLING in SP from these!)

A small patrol of the Nightsworn stumbled upon Orks in a ruined Monkeigh city, the battle was brief as the primitive beasts tried to reach the nimble Eldar but were outmaneuvered and outmatched

Game 1:
DE List:
10 Kabalite Warriors
-1 splinter cannon (Specialist Relentless)
-Raider (Splinter Rack)

3 Reaver Jetbikes
-Arena Champion Cluster Caltrops
-Champion Specialist Berserker

I don't know my other specialist I'm afraid (I changed the list in the next game)

Ork List:
14 Boyz (Choppa)
-Rokit launcha

5 Nobz
-Eavy Armor
-Boss pole
???
1 Nob had Crusader
1 Nob had Stealth
1 Nob had Hammer of Wrath

So I had first turn by Orks seized the initiative and starting charging torwards me but I used the buildings as safe areas as I bounced around shooting him till he was weak enough to pick off. I made a few mistakes about how much I poked at him before melee costing me my entire reaver squad (Champ from Nobz and the remnants to Boyz & Rollz)

SP Gain:
I gained 2 from shooting his Nobz and Boyz to death, and 5 from melee with reavers (gogo hit and run!). Of course I lost the Reavers this game so

I took a 2SP loan on this match, had to spend 1 to get my Reavers back and gained 4 SP after paying my fees

After the original parties victory, Nightsworn hunting parties were sent out to capture Orks for the Gladiatorial pits, they would fetch something...

Game 2:

New DE List:
5 Kabalite Warriors
6 Reaver Jetbikes
-Arena Champion Agonizer
-x2 Cluster Caltrops (One on Arena Champion)
Poison Specialist (On Caltrop guy not Arena Champ)
Arena Champ was the Beserker
One of them had Stealth

New Ork List:
14 Boyz (Choppas)
x1 Big Shoota

5 Nobz
-Eavy Armor
-Boss pole

1 Nob had Crusader

1 Nob had Hammer of Wrath

I got first turn this game and he didn't seize (Oh I rolled for the +1 toughness on my reavers this time)
Turn 1: I moved all of my guys forward within charging distance (On the buildings with the bridge) by next turn and waited. The Ork player moved all of his Boyz and Nobz towards my forces.

Turn 2: I moved all of my reavers forward  and charged his Boyz, only 3 of my 6 Reavers made the Charge unfortunately but killed around half of his boyz with Caltrops and normal attacks. Some Kabalites did minimal damage to the Nobz with shooting but no kills. (And some Splinter shots killed some boys before my Reavers Charged)

The Ork Player charged my Arena Champion but my Champ was able to roll for 3 extra attacks on the Beserker trait (he was outnumbered) so he butchered 2 of the Nobz out with his Agonizer. He took 1 wound in response. After combat I hit and ran everything out of there.

Turn 3: 2 of my Reavers charged the remaining 4 boyz and the other 4 at the Nobz. I killed them all in CC.

I gained 14 SP in CC and none in shooting this game. It took 2 total to field my Kabalites and Reavers and with my remaining 2 from last game I now have 14 slave points under my belt from 2 kill team games Razz

Yeah... I thought he was going to die... but seeing him butcher 2 really made me glad I gave him an agonizer...

Quick question did I do the math wrong with my Kabalites? Since none of them died did I have to pay that extra point for them in my second game or would that have carried over? If so then I should have 15.

I don't mean to nitpick but we may need to consider running a different set of rules for scoring kill team.

As it is, every model you kill is a point, melee is worthless, and it costs nothing to enter or maintain.

I'm not mathematically minded so I'll leave it to the leads, but with no HQ's in kill team and every model being a "unit" killed there is literally no incentive to ever fight in CC.
