Why is that? The Iyanden Supplement mentions that there were several Exodite worlds, in this case from the Ybaric Cluster, that were allied with them and sent their troops to other worlds to fight along side of them before they were cut off by a warpstorm.

Nah. Exodite would not wear armour or kabalite helmet. I would bet it is some kind of character. Since it got to the "Webway portal selfie" with the other VIPs.

So he can stabbity stab them! :-D

BTW reading what Count posted... How do you hide an army with Titans so Abaddon wont find them from orbit? :-D I love these "It just happened thusly, dont nitpick!" of GW.

As for the figure on the pics - The windriders look rather huge too TBH so he might be smaller than it appears, but still looks taller than Guardians. And look at his pose. Its kinda brutish. More like a lumbering thing or a construct. Could this be one of the Vect's constructs? That could be the reason for filled soulstones on a Dark Eldar design. The same pose is at the older picture. Legs wide, arms wide, no heroic pose, no contempt pose, no dynamic pose. He seems more like stoically overlooking the Imperial retreat. He is facing towards the observer, not looking over his shoulder and seems like looking at the Imperials as if he was watching them.

Further information taken from a Facebook 40K group:

Quote :
I have the new Cadia book. The mysterious dude in the red armour is still a mystery! It says "a warrior in crimson, his raiment echoing both Craftworld Aspect armour and the crueller plate of the Commorrite pirates" no record of its design could be found by Cawl.

The plot thickens....

Meet the new Eldar Faction: containing all and every one with pointy ears.

Further theory that he's actually Yriel. Yriel's dad was a Dark Eldar prince who shagged an Iyanden princess. So Yriel is both a Craftworlder and Dark Eldar.

DE are so getting combined into one of those new formdetachment thingies in fall of cadia like where the imperials can choose units from multiple factions to fill the slots in the formtachment thingie.

Might not be too horrible? Neutral

Well we know that Harlies aim towards reunification. What better cause than common enemy and vision of future without the fear of Slaanesh.

What better smoothing of the transition than some combined formations? :-)

I was wondering if it might be a black guardian. But the fact that it is red kind of ruins that thought. However the relic, that is being acquired might have brought one out.

I'm going to go completely off script and suggest the character in question is actually a Necron Lord of some kind.

CWE: We must all stop our hedonistic ways, and live our lives based on the ridgid structues seen by our Farseers, otherwise we will all fall to the forces of the Arch Enemy.

DE: STFU, I'm going over here to do drugs, sex and rock and roll

CWE: Noooo (said in whiny voice), your destroying our people (also in whiny voice)

DE: Let us be friends?

Is this what is in store for the True Kin? Kinda lame....

Erm, not entirely sure where you're coming from on that. I know there is a Necron involved in the Fall of Cadia story (Trazyn) but that sure ain't him!

I'm just thinking that all this conjecture is from one image from what I can make out, I looked at the character and thought to myself if it was not DE what could it be? The only thing I could think of was a Necron Lord, if there is one involved in the campaign that's working with the imperium it stands to reason that they are more likely to be the individual depicted on the image. I mean the Imperium working with one powerful Xeno is one thing, throwing in Eldar into the mix with a hated Yngir seems to be stretching the narrative to me.

This is Trazyn the Infinite:

The guy in red in the original image and the guy obscured by smoke in the other image is absolutely not him.

Oh dear, Matt Ward fluff....

In general, from what little fluff there is for them Exodites tend to keep to themselves and have a relatively low population count compared to Craftworlds. The idea that they are actively sending forces to join this massive fight against Abaddon doesn't hold up IMO.

I could get behind the thought of Prince Yriel who did dissappear into the webway with veilwalker but red isn't really his color and I don't think that's a spear in his hand.

On the topic of eldar unification I don't think of it as a friendship in any sense. It's more like all of the Dark Eldar are an aspect of the war god Khaine. They are called the children of Khaine and they represent the wanton slaughter of the enemies of the Eldar.

In a sense they are simply aspect warriors with no carefully constructed war mask. Dangerous certainly but much more so to your enemies of which the Eldar race has plenty.

Harlies: "Isn't it time to unite our people again?"
CWE: "That is our dearest wish, but will the Dark kin renounce their misguided ways?"
DE: "Oh shut it! You all are acting like cured drug addicts! Which in a sense you are!"
Harlies: "Well you could at least smile once in a while..."

I've got a little fluff piece coming for my plog about Harlequins trying to get exodites involved in a bigger fight than just defending their worlds. Like most of the background I've come up with it's a bit of a step away from the official fluff for exodites, but anything that moves them away from being 'pansy hillbilly space elves' and more fitting with the general 40k aesthetic is fine by me! If exodites existed solely as they do in the (old) official fluff they'd have been wiped out long ago!

Here's the fluff piece in case anyone was interested Smile

http://natfka.blogspot.com/2017/01/a-second-40k-triumvirate-box-set.html?m=1 just found this ... not sure how much stock to put in it but if this has rule equivalents to the imperium triumvirate then ... Maybe we have Vect back, standing with eldrad and an exodite ... Again not sure how much stock to put in it but apparently it's from the same source that talked about the imperial triumvirate

It would make sense, along with a potential Chaos version.

Exodite? Why not Harlequin? Exodites make no sense. Harlequins are the ones who orchestrate this apparently.

Oh absolutely. Harlequin is much, much, much more likely.

I was just getting on my soap box about exodites in general Wink
