Agreed. I'm of the opinion that Dark Eldar vehicles should be able to move up to 12" and still shoot all their armaments/passengers disembark.

Oh, and/or some Battle-Focus/Reckless Abandon type ability to give us some mobility back for footsloggers. I favour something where you can make a run move before or after shooting, but only towards an enemy unit (any enemy unit). Something like 'Battle Frenzy' Smile

Okay, we've dragged out of topic a hell of a lot here. Ill make one last remark and if we still wanna discuss how the Dark Kin should be faithfully represented moving on we can start another topic in the Dark Eldar Discussion section, even though this topic has been beaten to death already.

I certainly think Dark Eldar need some more survavility, but not in the form of better armour, but in the form of better cover/invulnerable saves derived from speed. That is the Dark Eldar theme after all.

And obviously we need more firepower, specially AV, in the form of more volume of fire or better quality of fire. We are fine AI-wise except in close combat, where we also need more punch.

We also are in dire need of either a way to deal with psykers (think sisters of silence/culexus-like unit. Incubi could do the trick with their bloodstones or Haemonculy with their arcane gear) or give us something instead of psychic powers (as Tau have with their markerlights). I think terror is a strong theme that is not currently well represented (if represented at all) and could be explored for this purpose. For an intergalactic boogeyman we sure suck at making people fear us ruleswise.

And thats enough for off-topic discussion. As far as the boardgame/supplement I hope we get:

Some sort of IC with a reaver jetbike, Hellion skyboard or Scourge wings. If they get included as gear for existing characters (Archon and Succubi) with some new, worthwhile wargear, better. If we get a named IC instead (Baron Sathonyx, Reaver Lord) its fine by me too. I just want to be able to field something in HQ instead of a bloody llhamaean and not feel like im giving the opponent a 150+ points advantage.

Rules revamp for Hellions. They dont need to have new models, I like the current ones but I'll take what I can get. I desperately want them to be viable becouse I love them but they are just pitiful right now. If we can get new rules for wyches and bloodbrides too that would be amazing but please, PLEASE dont frak reavers up. They are our second best unit (first one being of course the venom) and one of our best looking ones and I dont want them to suck.

Some thematically sound formations with cool bonuses that open up different playstiles and make Dark Eldar listbuilding less dull. Right now it all boils down to spam the hell out of unit A and B with a pinch of C, D and E. Its so boring.

I know this is probably just a silly board game that no one except Dark Eldar enthusiasts will play or care about... but a man can dream. I had high hopes for Death Masque too and it was a flop ruleswise.

Its just the frustration from the wait. I know I will look for rumours first thing in the morning every day until the release. :-D It also sends me into a build-scratch-rework lists frenzy and also generally giddy. I guess every DE player is somewhat anxious too, because despite we won't agree as to what needs to be changed, we do agree that a change is needed. I guess this kind of veer from theme is only logical - from waiting-frustration to army-frustration as it is the only one we can complain about out of the two. :-D

Personally I've been watching this thread anxious to know not only about Gangs of Commoragh but to see if anything has come of that new picture about Cadia with the Dark Eldar among Black Templars and the Inquisition walking into what appears to be either the sky or a webway portal.

Here's the image for those who haven't seen it.

It kinda reminds me of the deal the admech has made with the Dark Eldar to keep the Emprah alive. You can actually see the new admech guy (model) on the far left.

I haven't been rumor hunting in the slightest since I've heard about Gangs of Commoragh. What are you talking about... Rolling Eyes

Yeah that does look strange. Strikes me as a little jarring TBH. Less from a DE manipulating the plodding mon-keigh angle, but more from Black Templars being the absolute least likely Marines chapter to work with aliens.

Fairly certain that if you had Templars, Tau and 'nids in the same sector the Templars would turn their guns on the Tau screaming 'SUFFER NOT THE XENO TO LIVE', then charge headlong into the 'nid swarm and try to hit them on the head with their swords.

They're known for being intolerant even compared to the rest of the Imperium.

Unless it's a whole 'Blood Angel/Necron bro-fist' thing again....

I recall the day our current codex came out. I was SOOOO excited, despite rumors saying negative things about it. I set aside several hours and read the book, cover to cover. I then sat it down, looking at the admittedly gorgeous cover, and sighed. There was very little to be excited about in the book(scourges and reavers), and they irreparably damaged many things.

Because each codex tends to be iterative, with a lot of copy/paste, I have difficulty imagining that they will ever fix the 30+ nerfs they gave us on that day. The sad part is, I don't even think they meant to nerf us that bad.

If I had only ONE piece of advice to give the team that would work on the next DE codex, it would be this: "Please don't base our next codex off of our current one. Use the 5th edition codex(with the 5th ed FAQ) as the basis for your work."

I erased the day from memory. :-D So I am free to be superexcited for the next dex or update. I play DE and only DE so far, currently upgrading with some Corsairs and Harlies for variety. I just hope they will focus on Kabals, Cults and Mercs instead of Covens.

Amen to that. I would have hoped they'd have released 3 supplements for DE to really delve into the differences between Kabals, Cults, and Covens. That said, it'd be even nicer if they'd just give us a fully fleshed out codex that did justice for all 3.

About that picture, I was very sceptical and thought that is was just wishful thinking that this could be an Incubi... but at close examination it actually really does look like an Incubi.

The Klaive is missing and so are the spikes and horns, but the trophy-racks are unmistakably present, so does the helmet. The feathers have already been spoken about... but are they even feathers at all? Maybe it's just me but I clearly see a snout and a notch, implying where the eyes must be. So, maybe it is a pelt? I am probably interpreting too much.

Anyway, among all models the Incubi is the one that has the closest resemblance to this figure. It would also make sense that among all DE, it are the Incubi that work together with mon-keigh. After all, they are as honourable and trustworthy as it gets among all DE.


Mistake or not, I think it would be interesting and very refreshing if the IoM and a strong DE force work together temporarily. After all, Chaos is the only real threat to us and the big Kabals must be very aware of that. I'd very happy to have some more DE fluff.

Edit: I forgot to take the normal Kabalite amor into consideration and I think it has remarkable similarities. Sure, the shoulders and the helmets are different but the rest is surprisingly similar.
Maybe it is just an elaborate troll.

Black Templars are the least likely legion to be hangin with xenos.

Well it could be something along the lines of a Trueborn or Dracon as they decorate their armor to make it look more regal and well...important. Or it could be an Archon.

The gangs of Commorragh in white dwarf if going to be a short fluff piece, a painting guide and then a tack-on-rules-mod for kill team. This will allow small skirmish games using the hellion models, with slightly different rules, loosely inspired by the stormcloud attack rules for flyers.
I heard it from my local GW store manager. Which is internet code for I pulled the information out of my a$$.

A can't say I see that feathered boa on that guys shoulder as a bird. I mean, I can see the squiggles resembling a birds head, sticking out of it, but I can't bring myself to believe that the visual artist tried to make it look like there is a bird on his shoulder and that was all he was able to draw. More likely a case of Jesusface in toast syndrome, if you ask me. But nobody ever does because I'm always wrong. Thankfully.clown

If I'm looking at what you're looking at, there's a yellowish bit that could be a beak, or it could be a dangly bit on the armor. On the other hand, I own three feather boas, and they don't look like that either.

A source on Facebook posted this regarding the new White Dwarf.

"Gangs of commorragh? This is all that there is in this regard in wd. We don't know exactly what it is, it was said a game in the box, but at least we know that it will be a product and not an event.

Gangs of Commorragh? That's all there's about it in this WD. We don't know what it is, but at least we know it's a product, not an event."




I like that I see Hellions and Reavers in it, but not surprised. Probably a small board game, and one I will get because I tend to buy anything DE.

That definitely makes it look like a boxed game.  I don't think there will be any updated rules coming out for us.  With this looking like a separate game and there being no mention of Dark Eldar in the Fall of Cadia bit, I am feeling like we will be stuck with what we have a little while longer.  Although, this may be a cheap way of obtaining Reaver Jetbikes, so I guess that may be a plus.
