As you guys may have deducted from the title, I have yet to figure out what to name my Kabal. So for now they're just a nameless bunch of angry space elves. Some of you may also know my painting from Warseer, where I usually post my stuff, but I was hoping a dedicated Dark Eldar forum might get me some more and better feedback and maybe my little plastic men mey even inspire some of you guys!

Anyhow, here's some pictures of some (mostly) finished stuff:

The Cronos isn't mine, but I painted it for my local store. And since I used the colours of my Kabal I figured it deserved a place here.

And here's a WIP shot of my first raider (I really, really dislike painting vehicles...):

Well, the colours are strikingly similar to the Kabal of the Black Heart, so why not go for that one. In any case it looks really nice, the highlights are great.

Dang! I was hoping Tyranids followed the Pokemon naming idea. A big Carnifex running around just yelling "Carnifex! Carni-Carnifex!" followed by a squad of termagants all saying "Termagant" to each other.

All your models are incredibly well painted.
Nice line work and great skintones.
I also like the use of Orange as your accent color.
Not a lot of Orange seen in DE armies.

I really like the burnished metal effect on the Carapace of the Cronos.

I sort of tried to get a Black Heart colour scheme going, but more blueish. So apparently I succeeded!
Glad you like it! The extreme highlights are something totally new for me, but after a bunch of these guys I feel I'm getting quite decent at it.

Thanks! I wanted a very striking accent colour, and as orange is the exact opposite of blue I decided that would be a good choice. Simple but effective and all.
I wish I could show you guys some more, but seeing as I only started painting my DE about 2 weeks ago there's not too much I have painted right now.

I echo the appreciation of the skin tones and orange accents, looking great so far. May I ask what the grass is?

How did you get the skin to look like that, I envy your paintjob!

Thanks, I'm really happy people like my stuff. The grass is 'Highland Tuft' from The Army Painter. I don't like any of their products, except for these pieces of grass.

The skin is pretty easy actually. I start with a basecoat of Tallarn Flesh + Space Wolves Grey. Then I wash it with Devlan Mud. Repaint the basecoat but leaving recesses dark. After that I start adding white to the mix for the highlights, adding more white with each successive highlight. The loincloths are given a selective glaze with Dark Flesh, Scorched Brown and black after the highlights to differentiate them from the skin of the Eldar.

Okay guys, I need your help. I'm trying to decide what colour to paint the sails of the raiders/ravagers in my army, and how to paint my Incubi. For the incubi I'm quite set on having completely black armour with a white helmet. To break up the black I want to shoulderpads and breastplates to be something non-black. Like gold or white?
Now for the raider sail I could paint it white (although I don't really think a large area of white will fit in too well with my rather dark army). But painting it orange or something will be quite overpowering as well...
Ideas?

I think a orange sail with some dark shadows towards the inner edges would look great and not be overpowering.

For the incubi, you are pretty much describing my theme. Look at my thread and you see how that scheme worked out for me. http://www.thedarkcity.net/t142-dark-eldar-kabal-of-endless-twilight

What a Face

Alright, so after a period of inactivity, I finally did manage to get some painting done. Incubi! They're not completely done, but I felt they were good enough for now to show:

After I found out I had chosen basically the same scheme as LuckyNo.5 for my Incubi, I was dounting whether I should change it or not. In the end I decided to stick to the scheme, as it is just too awesome, and I really like the 'silent killers in black' feel.

Well, hope you guys like it!

Hey, if your schemes are similar, maybe their from the same shrine? Maybe a little bit of a collaborative effort needs to be made by two awesome painters? Huh?

Maybe we should combine our might to flesh out whatever we're going to call the Shrine...

Anyway, very small update here. I did some bases for my raiders/ravagers/venoms. Just two more large bases to go!

I should also note I finally finished assembling my scourges, a second squad of wyches and magnetized all of the weapons on my venoms. Happy day!
