So, I understand that Kabals can have multiple Archons, for instance Vraesque Malidrach and Kruellagh of the Kabal of the Flayed Skull. However, Kruellagh is said to be the leader while Vraesque is just an Archon within the Kabal.

However, I had this idea for the Kabal I'm homebrewing where it is led by two Archons, twins who took over the Kabal after their father vanished under mysterious circumstances during a raid. Trazhras is the brawn, preferring melee combat, while his twin Ezshar is the brains and prefers to keep a distance.

I was wondering if this was plausible or would the two immediately try to kill eachother once their father was gone?

I don't think family feelings matter a lot in DE society, I could even imagine that (such) feelings are seen as a weakness than anything else.
Also, a Kabal ruled by two Archons sounds a lot like "sharing" power to me, which is another thing I really wouldn't expect in a Kabal.

But there is a big "however" to all of this. From the DE books I remember that there is no clear destinction between Kabals and Cults and Succubi are also referred to as Archons.

So, one of the twins could be a Succubus whereas the other is the classic Archon as we know it. This way they would not be exactly sharing a Kabal but rather they would be responsible for different aspects of this Kabal and everybody does what he can do best.

It would be a Kabal with many traits of a classical cult, as well as an own arena (maybe even an in-house arena).

Inevitably it would still be a quite volatile mix between the two, but maybe it's for the better to make things more interesting Razz.
Either way, I'd also say that they both are descendants of an old aristocratic lineage that was very powerful before Vect basically took over the city.
Because aristocratic Trueborn still have a feeling of belonging and it makes them working together much more likely and a bit less volatile (as everybody else is just lower-class scrum).

Hope I could give some good input  Smile .

I believe the treasures of biel-tenigh short story features twins working together and actually their familial bond is fairly strong, they can actually communicate telepathically without being psychic due to being twins, a trait I could only imagine as very very useful for an Archon.

Even the archon from the path of series, laments the weakening of his bloodline, sure it was his fault but it still shows they do care about their family and legacy beyond themselves to an extent.

You could also go the alpha legion route, have two archons and nobody knows it since they are twins.

Seems I have a good amount of options. Three of them really interest me.

1. Descendants of an old aristocratic lineage that predates Vect and maybe even the fall of the Eldar Empire.

2. From a Kabal where familial bonds are strong and the twins can communicate telepathically.

3. Have the twins run the Kabal, but everyone only sees one or the other so they never know it is twins.

None of those are exclusive really. And the telepathy isn't special snowflake as I recall, all twins have that ability.

Taking Dark Eldar society out for the moment let us talk about the Eldar as a race. As a race they feel emotions and sensory stimuli a lot more keenly than we do. This is one of the reasons they become a bit obsessive about things and lead to the formations of the Cults that the Dark Eldar are descended from. Now lets mention Eldar Twins, they are actually very strongly connected with one another. The pilot of the Wraithknight for example must be a pair of twins, one living and one dead do to the connection they feel that is still strong even after one of them has died. The connection between Eldar Twins is said to be stronger then any connection shared by any other race. As such I don't have a hard time imagining a pair of twins sharing power.

As long as one sibling can't be used against the other I don't see where it would be a problem to have them both hold the position, maybe they even have come to view themselves as two halves of the same embodiment of power, maybe they essentially function as a single entity in mind and action having drowned out their individual personalities to form a single personality connecting two bodies. I'm also going to assume that they are Trueborn as I doubt that twins are born through the Haemonculi vats. This means that they already start out with a bit more power and influence in their society and could more easily stay together and raise higher. There is no societal rule that states one must kill their twin to ascend to power.

There is no rule in Commorragh that you can't have two Archons within the same Kabal. All that matters is that they have obtained the power and while they rule they are able to keep it. The particular kinks, desires, and approaches of the Archons who rule Commorragh do not fit into a generalist mold as they take on different approaches to gaining power. The Baron is not the same as Lady Malys who isn't the same as Vect, they all come from different backgrounds, rose to power, and kept power and lived through different approaches and happenstance.

Hopefully that makes some sense.

Thank you very much. Now I can work on writing the story behind the Kabal of the Shattered Heart.
