Maybe he will be hired for the next dark Eldar codex or chaos?

Hiring him for the next edition could be a good move. As long as he isn't writing the next Space Marines, Necrons or Eldar codex...

And what if it was him who was responsible for our last Codex in the first place?

He gave me some glorious years of 12 man drop pods--I'll welcome him with open arms.

When horus showed up at earth and the big E had to put his game face on and finally close the portal - he manifested a sun in the webway to drive the daemons back.  It's kind of his thing - well that and unjust war.

"As the Imperial forces withdrew as the last repairs on the Imperial portal were completed, the Emperor himself appeared and created a burning star in the Webway. The star shone with a golden psychic energy that forced the Daemons back, and as the last of the Imperials retreated from the portal the Emperor was able to at last close it with the Golden Throne."

I said something about not going in to this too much - but I could do this pretty easily for each of these.  The two forked path since he's half in realspace and half in the warp - half alive and half dead.  "Nemesis" of she who thirsts which is nearly synonymous to anathema (which is what (s)he and all the other chaos gods call him).  Nemesis implies their imminent defeat though so they'd never call him that, while anathema implies that he will instead by divinely punished.

It's obvious enough at this point that I have to think they're just trolling us here.

On a (surprisingly) less speculative note - are they really going to kill every last eldar ? Shocked

With Matt Ward back I can see this being the story: The Emperor will return by being reborn through a recently returned Guilliman. Every Space Marine Chapter, the Custodes, and the Grey Knights will take up Ultramarine Colors forming into a new Ultramarine Legion. Every Eldar in existance will line up so that they can have the honor of being slain by Ultrasmurfs... er Ultramarines who, following the example of their Emperor Guilliman the reborn Emperor, baths in their blood to become empowered and destroy slaanesh.

I think I'm letting my pessimism get to me to much...

I guess there's a couple of ways of looking at it.

On the one hand, the instinctive reaction (mine, anyway!) is to think, "What? The bloody Emprah turns out to be the answer to all of the Eldar's problems? Of course he does. Blech."

On the other, if the Emprah is indeed the answer, then that actually suggests that his rise and very existence in the first place was engineered by the Eldar, way back when... so you could totally interpret it as the Emprah and by extension the whole Imperium being pawns in the Eldar's long war to undo the creation of Slaanesh. "Oh, you revere your Emprah like a god, do you? Turns out he was just a Trojan Horse of ours, to knock out a real god(ess)..." Twisted Evil

Dude the Emperor is, like, thousand of years older than Slaanesh. Like, a freaking lot older. If they wanted to win against Slaanesh they would only have needed to stop partying that hard, as Exodites told them.

Craftworlders too - but they were a bit more like the people trying to leave the party when they heard the sirens approaching.

Well, if the cops were coming to penetrated to death anyone who didn't think to hide in the closet right as they got there (and never come out again).

As far as the Matt ward tea party goes - the grey knights prefer to bathe in sisters of battle blood, not eldar.  Although everybody's new allies the necrons will probably show up and maybe catch a coat of blue while they're at it geek

Then they can all go save the Age of Sigmar!

heh, ground marines

You just can't stop partying like that that - not if you're doing it properly!

Of course the goddess they are referring to being killed could be Isha and has nothing to do with Slaanesh.

For some reason I am getting Dark Souls vibes... praise the sun.

I think I will wait for the fourth part before I start properly pondering upon this. I would like all the pieces of the prophecy. Although, Curst, with Matt Ward being back your idea of thr Ultrasmurk supremacy wouldnt surprise me.

(apologies if already posted)

I'm wiodnering if they're trying to be clever.
Notes here on a forge, and becoming a weapin, and a crucible for souls (and dreams).

In older fluff material, weren't Iyanden building a brand new Wraith-God?

What is this "promotion" even hinting at? Is this for the upcoming Deathwatch board game? Because it all sounds like (finally) some big stuff is gonna happen, storywise. And I can't see GW progressing the fluff via a boardgame. So if this is NOT about the boardgame, is it maybe about a new campaign book?

It is probably the first step towards all of the rumoured campaigns and speculated story progression. Ultimately we wont know until it happens

As I understand it, this new box set is the beginning of a new campaign which advances the storyline of the 40k universe.

That is how I understand it too. However, I havent seen anything official stating that. For years I have dreaded the thiught of the timeline progressing, but this has intrigued me enough to just be cautious rather than rage against it.

It's not a board game and nothing has suggested it will be. It's a box set with Deathwatch (Captain Artemis, 5 Deathwatch Veterans, 5 Vanguard Veterans, Venerable Dreadnaut and a new DW upgrade sprue) against Harlequins (Eldrad, 12 Players, Deathjester, Voidweaver, 2 Skyweavers, decal sheet) with a small soft back 7th ed rule book with Captain Artemis on the cover. Think of it being like the Shield of Baal: Deathstorm box from a couple years ago.

Did Shield of Baal have proper models or were they like the Dark Vengeance or Assault on Black Reach models that were quick clip together style ones?

That one sounds a whole lot more like something Iyanden is coming instead, although we all know who the beacon in the galaxy is.

Also a plastic void shield generator is supposed to be incoming?... I doubt that's what the black shield is about but they do throw in the word void right under it.

I'd have said perhaps the blackened shield refers to the Black Guardians of Ulthwe, which would potentially tie in to Eldrad somehow.

That does make a lot more sense, I forgot they were called that.  Plus it's a bit early to start subliminal advertising for a product I don't even think they've announced yet Wink

I'm glad they seem to be walking back the end timey stuff as this seems to at least focus it down to a specific group.

It's funny how in February, the "wolf times" began and we all thought big things were going to happen - but 6 months later basically nothing has.  A new box set is a pretty big deal I guess, as is the reintroduction of what's basically another space marine chapter, but plot wise - I guess considering the alternative it's good it's not going anywhere.

The Tyranids half was exactly the same as what you can buy separatley on the shelf (except for the Broodlord, who has only been released as a standalone model in the last couple of months), not monopose snap fit models. I assume the Blood Angels side was the same but I quickly got rid of them.
