I guess I just want a change. Instead of small raids, I want the Dark Eldar to go to war! Do a campaign like the Wulfen, boost the DE! Bring out the weapons that are supposed to be of such superior technology.

I would like that as well, my Kabal idea revolves around as BetrayTheWorld put it "A Crusade against Chaos". So having some kind of change in DE society and a DE war sounds awesome.

A DE on DE campaign book would be amazing.

Hell, I'd love it if it were just one aspect of a larger elf-on-elf campaign book, incorporating CWE, DE, Harlies, and Corsairs! Pointy ears on every page, and not a pinkskinned ape to be found!

Red on Red is the new Blue on Blue!

I guess the catch is finding a second DE player to match up against. How many of us are the only DE players in our groups?

So a campaign that leaves openings for other races (as catspaws, pawns and, of course, the classic Vect gambit) might still be the way.

But I too would love to see an all-Eldar campaign Very Happy The Wrath of Khaine?

My opponent said "hail from the dark city" in our league match email a few days ago.  I think I got matched with the only other DE player Shocked Ill try and remember to take pictures of such a rare event  lol!

But yeah, 30+ player league, only 2 DE If I am correct, and I am not pure anymore.  I drank the koolaide and went super cousins (DE/CWE/Harlies) SO I would love a campaign book like this!  Hell I would lend out models for people to play DE against my DE.

You wont find a list of mine without covens in it though. If we do get an 8th edition codex I hope they continue to expand on the covens.

I thought it was just perspective, and it's a normal grotesque killing a crisis suit - the suit design is all wrong for it being a riptide, and they don't mount single fusion blasters on the arms.

As for DE, I'm one of four players at my club, which has a total of around 50 members, less than half of whom are regular players.

DE vs DE would be very nice but quite impossible (cause Dark Eldar do not sell as well as marines, which actually appears in EVERY campaign)

The possibilities (speaking without considering background) are:
-Tyranids (they need an update like us)
-Blood Angels (same)
-Chaos Space Marine (same)
-Grey Knights (same)
I do not believe in a campaign without a marine army but most of the chapters have been updated in Angels of Death except for Blood Angles (which better fit with Tyr) and Grey Knights.
Maybe Chaos Space Marines or a big campaign Eldar VS Chaos...

Yeah, well, for 20 years GW said they were a model company and not a game company...and that market research was unreliable, and so they wouldn't do it, or take online polls, or anything of that nature...

But now they're polling the community on FAQs for their GAME, presumably to do some MARKET RESEARCH about what their customers want. There was also a recent POLL showing that something like 90% of their customers play the game, whereas they previously thought the players of their game were the minority(Presumably because their rules sell less copies than their models, and they haven't figured out that 4 players playing together only need 1 rulebook). They were convinced into these things by the massive failure of age of sigmar without rules. Which is why they're expanding on the age of sigmar rules.

So, now that they realise PLAYERS make up the vast majority of their customer base, it's entirely possible prior practices may change. Maybe they'll start looking at things and say, "Hey, are space marines by far the most popular because they're just awesome, or is it maybe because they're in EVERY campaign we release? Maybe if we start featuring other factions more, they will be more popular..."

Or maybe it's all a pipe dream. Very Happy

While I wholeheartedly agree, Betray, I am afraid that Marines will continue to be pushed. They won't take the risk of a bad year because they don't feature then enough especially with age of crap around.

They're under new leadership. Tom Kirby left (and apparently hasn't been back) about a year and a half ago, and Richard Roundtree seems to be trying to bring GW back to its days of glory, before it all went south. It wasn't going to happen overnight, but a year and a half on his influence is beginning to be seen, and it's good! Smile

Well truth be told Space Marines will always remain extremely popular while the vast majority of the media and advertising is expended on them. Video games, books, audio drama, terrible movie, and so on are all heavily focused on the Empire and of that material it is heavily focused on the Space Marines. Most people's first encounter with Warhammer 40k revolves around the Space Marines and they tend to have rules that make them the easiest to start out with. Smaller numbers needed to start playing means less money spent on assembly of the army, and their rules means they are much more forgiving if you make a mistake when first starting. From most of the people I've spoken to they almost always started with a space marine army then when they wanted something different, be it play style or aesthetics, they moved onto other armies.

A campaign between Malys and Vect would not be only Dark Eldar vs Dark Eldar however, it would include the Harlequins as well do to Malys' connect to them. But I am dubious that enough of the player base plays either one of these to justify the investment of an entire campaign on those two without including some Mon'Keigh zealots from the Imperium.

I could see them doing a Eldar civil war campaign, perhaps Craftworld Eldar and Harlequins intervening in the disjunction with corsairs and Commorrites on the other side, though that would still mean introducing Corsairs into mainstream 40k, which is probably unlikely.

This would be a very good idea.
-Dark Eldar background (from Codex) ends with the Khaine's Gate thing which involves not only Commorragh but the entire Eldar race cause if Commorragh falls all Eldar race will do too. So a CE-Harlequins intervention in the "civil war" is possible or (after) in the demonic invasion (which could be more possible cause DE and CE are battle brothers in the rulebook not enemies)
-Corsairs into 40k have always been a rumor
-Harlequins need also a little update (they do not have a Decurion)
-Eldar needs new aspect models

I'm afraid that would somehow include the Imperium. How could they do that?

Isn't there some fluff about the Mechanicus talking with dark Eldar about the golden throne?

I think it's easiest to just bring us in with a salamanders campaign book. Their primarchs first great act was beating back the constant dark eldar raids on their home world of nocturne. Plus salamanders need their update. I guess not now with angels of death though.

Well, Vect has a habit of abducting the human navy into the Webway.

And yes, that was more a deal between a sub organisation of the Imperium with the Haemonculi if I recall correctly.

Wasn't it also a Salamanders ship Vect gifted to his enemies that resulted in the destruction of the old Noble house structure? Could certainly argue that Sallies and DE have an ongoing feud!

But yes, Sallies don't need any help on the tabletop now that Angels of Death has been released, especially against us, their detachment gives them +1S to flame weapons, so if those hit our transports they'd be causing D6 hits wounding on a 2+ and ignoring our armour.

They don't need help, but prior to angels they were the best chance we had of getting updated. As a Sally punching bag.

I have a Salamander army, drop pod one... I was thinking of doing AoD and then made the list, talk to friends, we all agreed unless its a tournament dont do it.

But I know Vect has done many things to the Imperial and Tau hahaha

I know Ive read some of their interviews with past employees and once upon a time that said GW is a modeling company not a Rules one and they pick armies to do when the feel inspired and only if that person wants too.

I dont have sources tho, these was articles posted over the past 15yrs.

Edit: Forgot to add, Ive never seen these polls tho it would be cool to read.

Actually, there are even more reasons why the Salamanders hate the Dark Eldar, I think the home of their leader was frequently raided or something like that.

Yes. This and there is more in the DE books:

WH40k Lexicanum wrote:
As El'Uriaq planned his conquest of Commorragh, Vect struck in an unexpected fashion. Capturing a human starship in Realspace, Vect hurled the vessel through a Webway Portal and directly into Shaa-dom itself. The burning vessel smashed into the satellite realm, incinerating the core of the city instantly. Moreover the ships Warp Drives exploded, creating a Warp rift that spread Daemons throughout Shaa-dom. Devastated and overrun by Daemons, Vect ordered that Shaa-dom be sealed from Commorragh forever.
