Yeah I am not saying vect should come back, but there is no reason we shouldnt have a GMC.  


A GMC beast would be great for some interesting DE beast formations too.

I always thought we would have more beast and slave options... I mean thats what we do....

Well, in theory they could but I just can't see that fitting into their schemes.
They have nothing to gain by creating a Grot-Zilla and how on earth (or rather, Commorragh) are you supposed to bring that thing with you when raiding?

Haemonculi don't design war-machines, they are scientists. IIRC the vast majority of them are working on small devices and toxins and Grotesques and Pain Engines are super-big when it comes to their standards already.

However... I really could imagine them brining some ancient device which unleashes a beast from another dimension which really is gargantuan in size (Aelindrach, perhaps?).
But I can't imagine that GW ever doing, neither can I imagine it being a "Lord of War".

I think you can see it in two ways. In terms of fluff, Vect and his Dais of Desutrction won't go without each other and most definitely he'd deserve being a LoW.

But from a more pragmatic point of view, I'd prefer him personally being an expensive HQ and his Dais being a separate LoW choice.

GMC doesnt fit DE theme at all.

I'd rather us have LOADS of formations, we should have many formations and I mean ALOT, not large ones but lots of small ones.

Vect and the DoD should be back too...

About the new DE codex... I personally dont think we will get one until all the faqs are out, I can see us being one of the 1st to be done when the Faqs are out.

I think it will go like this.

Faq's and Army Faqs'
GK's
Campaign of sometype
DE
MS of some type
Formations/Special release
8th

I tend to agree but a while back I purchased a Glotkin as a gift for a friend and put it together for her. Throughout the whole process I was thinking "This thing would make a fantastic Covens GMC!". It's roughly the same size as an Imperial Knight and if you change the Nurgle characters for something more Haemonculus-y I think it would look superb.

I went to a seminar way back when which included a question to Phil Kelly and Jes Goodwin about what they'd like to do with the DE range. Phil Kelly's answer was basically a massive coven creature (I think there's also something in the fluff about the cultural exchange with the Tau including really big creatures?)

Jes Goodwin basically suggested doing Jabba the Hut's barge in DE style.

I'd be happy with either quite frankly, I see no reason why the Haemonculi wouldn't consider making massive creatures - they'd be great entertainment in the arenas of Commorragh and we know that some of them specialise in crafting weird and wonderful creatures.

I'd love to see what they did if they decided to supersize the Talos concept.

It's a work of art to devastate a planet with several gargantuan creatures. I'd do that if I were a mad scientist.

Do you think it should be flying or have something else special? What kind of weaponry would you give it?

I think they'd give it a D Close combat weapon and some sort of torrent acid thrower.

The idea of a giant gargantuan coven beast absolutely fits Haemonculi. Why? Because they have are ancient, have gone insane and are bored. Also, it would likely be fun for them.

I was talking to Korazell in the chatbox the other day and we were discussing this. One of the ideas I cam up with was it being very slow moving but having a high number of wounds. It would have smaller DE size models that go with it with a weapon that can inflict great pain upon the beast causing it to charge and stomp anything in the way when the DE units inflict it great pain (removing a wound). There was also discussion of it being liable to scatter, for the fun of it accidentally downing your own units.

My point is there are lots of fun things they could do with it and that if we do have an update coming I hope to see more new things rather than having units stripped from us, like with our characters.

But the Coven arnt DE, I would rather the Main DE army/codex get these kind of things, I dont want Coven with Supplement DE.

Coven is an AMAZING add on to DE and I love them, but I would rather not go the way of Nurgle and I would like to be Space Raiding Pirates.

I would actually like to see a change in DE society. Vect is destroyed and Lady Malys takes over. Make her an HQ. In the latest codex there was mention of a named Mandrake, Kheradruakh. I am aware he had rules in 6th edition. I think he should come back and be a powerful assassin HQ.

Since DE do not have a psychic phase, something needs to be changed so that our other phases are balanced out, or one is completely more powerful. We have a lot of assault units, maybe make assault viable again and boost that through new rules or formations

Rather than kill Vect just include both Vect and Malys as Lord of War choices. That is what I would do.

A Lord of war skimmer that is a larger Ravager with multiple guns along the side and a split fire rule would be cool to me. Maybe give it a D weapon on the prow. I like my boat fleet pirates.

And as far as I'm concerned I think that's ridiculous. It should be included in the core codex. I'm not a fan of the supplements, let alone the fact that they took out our characters then released a supplement. I think it should be in the core rulebook.

I can totally get behind both a super-heavy Raider and a gargantuan Talos. Very Happy

Oh, by the way:


I don't think the Tau would consider that "cultural exchange", but the Haemonculi might, and it does involve a really big creature! Razz


That said, I also support the idea of bringing back Vect as a LOW character (alternative assembly of the super-heavy transport?), Malys as the token infantry general and Kheradruakh as the assassin character.


As for our codex update: Yeah, we'll probably have to wait until the 8th edition.
Fortunately for us though, there aren't many armies left without a 7th ed. codex, and GW has recently started a major rules experiment (Death from the Skies), so the 8th can't be too far away.

I'd like to see them bring back or introduce new characters.

Vect would be cool I would hope they bring him back with his Dais and several rules that give a strategic advantage. Or maybe the option to take his personal wraithguard.

A coven monster would be appreciated and the lore is there to support it.

What I would be most interested in though would be a Decurion style detachment.

In Epic: Armageddon the Dark Eldar have the Knasherakk (however it's spelt) which is basically this; a colossal beast from another dimension unleashed via webway portal. It even gets some rules about how if there are no wyches nearby to control it (because arenas, beastmasters etc) it just attacks whatever's closest, enemy or not.

I'd like a Lovecraftian horror turning up to horrify and eat a bunch of enemies before it moves along to the next dimension in its path Twisted Evil Really, it's just a supersized Dark Gate. I can see it's not everyone's cup of tea though.
