So I picked up a 5th Talos the other day. Workin on its paint job.
I'm also finishing off more Grots.
I'd love to use them, and I wanted to run both formations in the same army. Rip and tear.

CtC - 5xHWB, 2 Ichor Injectors
Grotesquerie 2xAberation with Agonizer, 2 grots in a EA Raider, Haemon with not much
It's almost 1200 points

What should the other 550 points comprise of? I think I'd need to focus on AT.

What do others think?

(I do realize its not a competitive concept)

Cheers

Honestly, you can only really allocate your remaining points for ranged tank eating if you want the army to have any chance.

If you were deciding to go for Dark Eldar for your remaining points, I'd go something like:

1 Lmahaen
5 Kabalites
5 Kabalites
5 Scourges with 4 Haywire Blasters
5 Scourges with 4 Haywire Blasters
5 Scourges with 3 Heat Lances
1 Ravager with 3 Disintegrators

I'm not claiming it's good, but it meets the literal minimum requirements for a CAD, then gives you some good ranged anti tank, at exactly 550 pts.

The Scourges which have Heat Lances double up as some Anti TEQ support in case you're up against non vehicle lists, such as Tyranids or Grey Knights - which coincidentally would hard counter your coven units. The Ravager is there for this reason too. You could drop the Heat Lance Scourges for another Dissie Ravager, too.

Dark Lances would be better, but you'd have to drop 15 points somewhere for that. If you considered parting ways with your Enhanced Aethersails, which I honestly don't rate too highly, you could buy them both Dark Lances

It's not the Dark Artisan that does that, it's the Cronos, or more precisely, the Cronos' Spirit Probe. So you could just have a Cronos on it's own if you wanted but it would be fairly vulnerable.

Also it would have trouble to catch up with the CTC.

You should not put any gun upgrade on your CTC. Having good guns on them give you the temptation to shoot instead of sprinting. But, doing so, you'll end up lacking movement, and you'll fail to assault something interesting, if not anything at all.

I've run a corpsethief claw in 3 games now (1250,1850.1850) and I've gotten dirty looks from my opponents in every one. (I did invisibility it one game, don't do that in casual games).

In both lists I support it with a cast of players harlequin formation, the crusader bubble helps them move faster and the death jester can use his "death is not enough rule" like cutlery to bring fine morsels into the maw of the claw.

Now my 1850 list does not include a Grotesquerie but instead a dark artisan (the 6" fnp boost bubble evens out the 6" scout move and I've yet to gave trouble keeping them together.) The remainder is an archon, farseer, Windrider jet bikes, 2 venom full of Kabalite with blaster.

The psychic support can really turn the corpsethief from nasty to "even as a dark eldar player I'm.... sorry", invisibility, shrouding, dance of shadows, fortune. All can turn this tough unit into something truly stupid.

A full parking lot of tanks would probably beat my list due to a lack of anti tank (heat lances on the claw for me, removes the temptation NOT to run but still let's me crack things, so far a pod and the dead inside, a landraider and an ork looted wagon).

That's potentially pretty nasty but it does rely an awful lot on luck (getting the right psychic powers and then actually casting them with only d6+5 dice. A psychic heavy opponent will shut that down pretty much every time.

D6+5 is about what I'd call psychic medium and my meta is psychic light, and even against psychic heavy, they are all blessings so 6's to deny.

But the psychic powers are just gravy, the meat of the synergy comes from the guaranteed crusader and death is not enough.

Do you run your harlequins on foot or mount them in a raider?

On foot. Crusader keeps them mobile (and corsair powers when I'm really deathstarring) or a wwp. I find the ability to cast blessings more protection than a raider.

Thanks for the advice.
@ The Red King - What Corsair powers do you run with?
I was thinking of running a Raiding company (titan huntrrs) with darklances as support, and a Void dreamer would be cheaper than a kitted out baron for the mandatory HQ

I like to take the Hate bringers coterie because the free vp has won me two games and hatred is quite a buff to my deathstar against another star.

If you mean what psychic powers I roll on aethermancy almost exclusively, looking for that sweet DS or at least the flicker jump. Either one makes for amazing mobility.

On the prince I take reaper of the outer dark, not for the free rage (which is okay I guess) but more for the "forced charge". Combined with "death is not enough" I can easily bring things in or out of that range, allowing me to screw with one component of my enemies forces and then charge another. It also works marvelously with my corsair ghost walkers w/hwg, fusion gun, jet pack and snipers. A little bit schizo and probably overpriced, but between infiltrate and scout there is borderline nothing your opponent can do to prevent a turn 1 melta Lance into his favorite tank, followed by either more tank hunting or some very mobile harassment, or some decent cover camping objective holders. Use reckless abandon to force you within 8 (incidentally moving much faster than walking) of a tank after shooting and then be "forced" to charge it with 5 hwg hits. Like better haywyches. I used to go collector for the mask to complete the -4 ld bubble but with a cast of players it is unnecessary.

Chronos don't deepstrike, and they works only at 6".

CT will scout. A Chronos will never be at 6" from it Smile

Juste move one of the talos only at 5" of the cronos. It work for the entire unit.

By the way i've test a Corpsethief Claw + Dark artisan (warlords) + Cast of player. That's a pure steamroller.

Agreed. Run in multiple games. It induces rage and unless you hate coven it's pure dark eldar

Oh... yes lol I forgot they are no longer in our codex per se but I tend to think of all the eldar as one race and harlequins as denizens of the dark city whenever they so choose.
