Hello everyone, last topic today is Warriors/Trueborn. I have reworked them a bit and I think you might like some of the changes. :-) They can still get a Venom or Raider as Dedicated Transport.
You might see some equipment that will be explained later. So far I would like to check if you like the new tuning. :-) I am bit concerned about them being too cheap despite imposing the "sarge tax"

KABALITE WARRIORS
Statline: see CDE, -1 LD, -1 WS
Point cost: 8 ppm
Composition: 5-20
Unit Type: Infantry
Unit Status: Troop
WARGEAR: Kabalite Armour, Splinter Rifle, Plasma Grenades, Close Combat Weapon
WARGEAR OPTIONS:For every 5 models in the squad, 1 model may replace her Splinter Rifle with one of the following:
Blaster 10 pts
Shredder 5 pts
For every 10 models in the squad, 1 model may replace her Splinter Rifle  with one of the following:
Dark Lance 20 pts
Splinter Cannon 10 pts
Splinter Blaster 15 pts
SPECIAL RULES: Fleet, Night Vision, Power from Pain, Ancient Doom, Selfish, Raider
Selfish: Despite their appearance of military force, kabalites are selfish and disorganized, rarely working for a general goal other than drinking the anguish of their victims. Constant paranoia within their own ranks add to this attribute. Without direct leadership they are prone to ignoring orders. As a result, any unit of Kabalite Warriors that does not contain a Sybarite is not scoring and/or contesting unit.
Raider: Models with this rule can shoot with their full BS from a vehicle that moved at a cruising speed. When the vehicle they are embarked upon moved Flat-Out, the models can fire Snap Shots.

SYBARITE
One model in an unit of Kabalite Warriors can be upgraded to Sybarite.
Statline: see CDE, -1 LD
Point cost: Warrior cost +10 pts
Unit Type: Infantry (Character)
WARGEAR: Kabalite Armour, Splinter Rifle, Plasma Grenades, Close Combat Weapon
WARGEAR OPTIONS:Sybarite may replace his Close Combat Weapon with one of the following:
Venom Blade 5 pts
Agoniser 20 pts
Power Weapon 10 pts
Electrocorrosive Whip 15 pts
Sybarite may replace his Splinter Rifle with one of the following:
Blast Pistol 5 pts
Agoniser 10 pts
Splinter Blaster 15 pts
SPECIAL RULES: Fleet, Night Vision, Power from Pain, Ancient Doom, Ruthless Leader, Raider
Ruthless Leader: Sybarites are experts in using their comrades as living shields, often leaving them the last man standing in pursuit of securing objectives and their promotion. As a result Sybarites can make and  pass their LOS! roll on 2+.

KABALITE TRUEBORN
Statline: see CDE, -1 A, -1 LD
Point cost: 11 ppm
Composition: 5-10
Unit Type: Infantry
Unit Status: Elite
WARGEAR: Kabalite Armour, Splinter Rifle, Plasma Grenades, Close Combat Weapon
WARGEAR OPTIONS: In any unit of Trueborn, up to 4 models may replace their Splinter Rifles with one of the following:
Blaster 10 pts
Shredder 5 pts
In any unit of Trueborn, up to 2 models may replace their Splinter Rifles with one of the following:
Dark Lance 20 pts
Splinter Cannon 10 pts
Splinter Blaster 15 pts
Any unit of Trueborn equipped with Splinter Rifles or Splinter Cannons may upgrade their ammo to the following:
Soul Seeker Rounds 10 pts/unit
Soul Seeker Rounds: These special rounds infused with the Dark Eldar arts seek out their victims with relentless malice, even in buildings and behind corners. Unit firing these rounds gains Ignore Cover USR. Applies only to shots fired using this ammunition. For example an unit of 10 Trueborn, 8 of which have Splinter Rifles and 2 of which have Blasters cannot apply Ignore Cover rule to their Blaster shots.
SPECIAL RULES: Fleet, Night Vision, Power from Pain, Ancient Doom, Raider

DRACON
One model in an unit of Kabalite Trueborn can be upgraded to Dracon.
Statline: see CDE, -1A
Point cost: Trueborn cost +10 pts
Unit Type: Infantry (Character)
WARGEAR: Kabalite Armour, Splinter Rifle, Plasma Grenades, Haywire Grenades, Close Combat Weapon
WARGEAR OPTIONS: Dracon can replace his Splinter Rifle with one of the following:
Blaster 10 pts
Shredder 5 pts
Dark Lance 20 pts
Splinter Cannon 10 pts
Splinter Blaster 15 pts
SPECIAL RULES: Fleet, Night Vision, Power from Pain, Ancient Doom, Raider

I fear that, as soon as we get "reasonable" upgrades that might make us competitive, your friends won't play against that codex anymore.
I sure as hell wouldn't play against the Necrons, Space Marines or Eldar if that would've been a fan made codex.

Transports for free? What a joke! Necrons formations? No way. Scatter bikes? D weapons? Whatever? No. Damn. Way.

What I want to say is that whenever we think of a combination that could be really good we only accept it because it is official. So your fan dark Eldar codex may never be as hard as those ones. I would also say that your codex could only be weaker than the current one to be accepted.

So? We have seen reports of our current dex beating Necrons, Skyhammer, Eldar... I am aiming for fun dex. With units that are fun to field and poke around. Nothing OP. I am aiming to preserve our inherent weaknesses, to put the fluff into the dex rules, but to keep with the "hard to play" style. You won't see wyches with 4++ against everything with HWG for 8pts. Free transports? Naah. We are a glass cannon. All bonuses will be offensive or to influence the flow of battle to our favour despite whatever the enemy brings. The last thing I think is that we need to get more tough. Do we struggle against drop assaults? I can't imagine an archon who would let himself to be surprised and outmaneuvered by arrival of SM ship and drop pods since they have no way of cloaking. Everything needs to be a threat and an good one. Beasts, Hellions, Wracks, RWJ, VRB. I want a dex where you would LOVE to field every unit. Formations that you won't feel embarassed to field in friendly games. But overall raise our threat level in a subtle way. :-) If you follow my meaning. :-)

Yes. And this rising thread level will lead to the opinion that players don't want to play against it because they think it's OP.

OTOH - There is nothing "wrong" with the dex. But there are only few, if not one, way to play with the current cheese. Having a book that can keep pace with the current cheese with 5 different playstyles including assault would be probably the best dex out there. :-) So yea... I understand their motive... :-D

@Jimsolo My gaming group isn't thinking that our codex sucks. Having crushed my last two opponents, I can hardly argue against that.

Granted, we don't have those über units or must have units (in terms of scatter bikes), but if we add the coven supplement we do have some nice tricks.

And I grant yup that the current power from Pain mechanic is a bit strange and that it would be more accurate if it would be similar to the blood tithe rule.

I even grant you that witches suck because they don't put out damage. At least when you don't get the strength bonus due to drugs.
