 Succubus Warlord Traits

An idea for Warlord Traits specific to a Succubus Warlord.

1) Well Connected.
The Succubus is in with the right dealers in Commorragh, able to get the best combat drugs available.
Instead of rolling for combat drugs, an army led by a warlord by this trait may select which combat drugs the army receives. In addition select a second, different drug. The Warlord (only) gains the benefit of second drug in addition to the first.

2) Arena Master.
The Succubus is among the greatest combatants the galaxy has ever seen, having honed her craft for many thousands of years.
The Warlord gains +1 WS, +1 Attack.

3) Steroid Abuser.
The Succubus has been using combat drugs for so long that it has had a permanent effect on her body.
The Warlord gains +1 Strength and +1 Initiative.

4) Master of Arms.
The Succubus and her cult have access to some of the finest wargear in the galaxy.
Choose one squad. All Wych weapons in that squad gain the Master Crafted USR. All weapons wielded by the Succubus also gain this special rule.

5) Greased Lightning.
The Succubus's reflexes are beyond those of any mortal, allowing her to dodge bullets.
The warlord gains a 5++ save.

6) Terrifying onslaught.
In battle, the Succubus's visage is truly terrifying to behold. Even the mightiest of foes flinch as she approaches.
The warlord gains the Fear universal special rule. Additionally, units may not take overwatch against her or any unit she is with.


(Design note: My precedent for giving +1 to two attributes is the Black Templar Master Swordsman Warlord trait, which grants +1 WS and +1 attack.)

Thoughts and feedback?

I would make only the weapons of the squad she is placed in at the beginning master crafted. That's more like dark Eldar.

I think it comes out more balanced if 4) only Master Crafts the Succubus' and her squad too. Otherwise this one can get a bit silly if you overload on Wych units.

Overall, a decent and balanced list though. Kudos.

The intent was to master craft "wych weapons" , as in the special weapons from the list of the same name, rather than just any weapon a wych is holding.

Sorry, was not intending sarcasm. Was attempting to ensure clarity as wych knives ect could confuse the issue and wanted to make sure we are on the same page. My bad.

I think Steroid Abuser is a bit much. I dunno how to tone it down, though.

When you think about it Steroid Abuser is basically +1 strength. The +1 initiative is flavorful, but it's never going to have an impact on the battlefield as you're already initiative 8.

Not sure if +1 strength is really that powerful as a warlord trait, but I'd be more than happy to change it if someone comes up with a good alternative.

No, but I think the +1 I pushes it over the edge. I think I'd be comfortable if it were just +1S.

The Warlord gains +1 Strength and after rolling for combat drugs, may choose to replace the rolled result with Hypex.

Hmm. That, maybe.

+1 Strength is huge, especially for a Succubus. (If she gets Grave Lotus and wields an Archite Glaive, she could potentially be swinging at S8 by turn 4, which is obscene.)

Let us be entirely fair, most other races can have S8 AP2 swinging on their HQs on turn 1. Some can have better. Our higher number of attacks doesn't really matter because they can still get their 2 weapons, or even have a 2+/3++ save to tide them over.

If we're paying Autarch money for a very much glass cannon, I want to at least have the cannon part down.
