 NiIDS!!!!!!

I hate them... I must be doing something wrong because no matter the points I get smashed.... What am I doing wrong.... Perhaps I'm not aggressive enough? Heres my list...

Hq- hemon.
Talos
Chronos

Succubus
X3 incubi
In venom?.( open to change)

Warriors x5 in venom.

Warriors x10 in raider w/ racks

Grots x3 in a raider as well. ( open to change maybe more warriors??)

Razorwing x1 ( Sad )

Reavers x4 (again frowny face) 1 w/ caltrops

Scourges x5 w/ shard carbines. For the assault x3....?

For upgrades just ask and again I'm open to some changes. I use basically what I have. I do have more warriors and an archon some wytches.

He owns me in the psychic phase it seems like. Warp blasts a lot. I generally start with one venom and 2 raiders on and deep strike with the majority of the rest of the army. ( DA, inccubus scourges and razorwing.) Any suggestions on what I should do different I'm open too. Sorry but typing on this iPad is hell which is why I didn't type out my upgrades to each unit...

what in particular does your opponent tend to bring?

Generally speaking against nid MC's we have the edge thanks to poison, but I found in my last game against them that their new drop pod style creatures were extremely nasty, and they also have a unit that is pure kryptonite to us with high strength ignores cover shooting (can't remember what they're called)

^he means nids.

Gunboats tear them apart. The shear mass of poison kills all their things outright. Dark Lances work well as well, still wounding on 2s and can double out an warrior I believe. Meaning if a warriors toughness is 4 then a wound with an dark lance instant kills the model. Consider Dark Lances the Dark Eldar version of force weapons for T4 and below. Though not as effective as someone is bound to pop in and say.

yes I meant against Nids Smile

Have a few lances is Fine for Warriors/Ravagers/Shrieks, but any good nid play doesnt play with these in a Serious game (fun games yes, but not serious games).

Having played 1000's of Games with nids (I own 15k+ points and been playing hardcore Nids sense 4th ed).

I Must say tho, If the other player did the 5 Flyrants, 5 Lictors, 3 Crones, 5 Muliods(spelling) and Malonthronpe it be a very hard game, just b.c 8 MC are Flying and with FnP on a couple of them, and the warlord (sense your playing out of the Baal book, you get a Free D3 option to your Warlord can get +1 wound for During your Opponents Shooting Phase you my make your Warlord go Into On going Reserves). So if You roll a 5-6 Your warlord will NEVER die.

I stopped Playing Nids b.c this style list is the ONLY competitive list, and frankly Its not fun for anyone.

Each turn a Tyrant will Kill a Venom/Raider/Ravager, they will Focus the more threatening ones 1st.
I mean 12 TL S6 shots at 18" with a 24" movement and can shoot 360 degrees... thats a 42" threat range :/

So it comes down to who goes 1st and who places better at the start.

It will be a bloody game for sure.

Then you have 5 DS Lictors with Rending S6 (shots and melee)that dont scatter on DS, and the Troops are Shrouded DS when charge they explode in a Large Blast at S8 ap4. On top of that, Crones are S6 Flamers, S8 Vector Strike and Haywire Missles.

Well i played it about 20x and never lost, Even went against 3 Storm Ravens BA Formation and Took 1 down turn 2, another turn 3, he Just flew off the other.

Eldar killed everything but the Tyrants by turn 3, but turn 4-5 I had 4 Tyrants left and I manage ot get Line Breaker, 1st Blood and Warlord and he didnt, so it was a VERY close game. (old Eldar) I think new Eldar would be Much easier to deal with.

i havent really tested it but if you upgrade the warriors in the raider to trueborn and have just 2 splinter cannons, you can fire up to 28 shots with re-roll if you're close enough and haven't moved, 24 shots if you have, and a minimum of 16 shots if you're too far and have moved. which sounds pretty powerful to me if they wound on 4+.

Trueborns with 2 SC + Venom = 27shots

Sslythx5 + Venom = 27 shots

Warriors x10 SC + Raider Splinter Racks + = 15 Reroll ones

The FMC spam is horrible to DE. Perhaps only massed Talos can stand up to them. Skybilght+ Leviathan means 7 FMC and 3x10 gargoyles that can respanw on 4+ if they are wiped. Add in Mawlock and Venomthrope and there is not much you can do.

I always figured that 'nids were one of the few armies we were really good against.

Granted our morale shenanegans are fairly useless, but killing FMCs is one of the few things that the razorwing can be said to excel at!

Against Non Flying Circus with are AMAZING at killing them. But not against Flying Circus. You might do 1-2 wounds at the Most, the problem is we have no ignore cover, they will get 3+ (and FnP most likely) or 4+ Jink (maybe 2+ if close to Malanthrope).

I personally like Crones alot, 1 Crone will most likely take out a Flier it self, with a S8 vector strike, If you are Lucky on the D3, the Vector Strike alone will kill it. (S8 vs Av10)

Thats not including the Flamer (only S6 tho, but Ignores cover) and the Haywire Missile.



What I would do against Flying Circus nids army is MSU of Venoms+5mans

I mean you can fit 19 Vehicles in a 1850pts list all with 5mans and 2 Courts of 1 Sslyth each in a Venom and 2 Archons in Venoms, 6 5man Troops, 6 In Fast Attack, and 3 in Elite and still have points left over.

I mean your talking about 19 Venoms, Turn 1 that is 228 Shots.

Tho.... its is unrealistic and they most likely wont play against you.....

Flamer doesn't work on the flyer as you cannot template or place markers on flyers.

OOps your right, Im just used to using it all the time due to Open Top Vehicles.

Razor wings with disintegrators are awesome against flyrants and Hive crones. A jinking flyrant is an ineffecient flyrant. Tyrannofexes in a tyrannocyte (drop pod) can drop 2 templates on whatever they like. Mucoloids explode at S8 AP3 (up to S10 if there are 3 in the unit). The worst are the flyrant's Electroshock grubs. S5 AP5 haywire template. Roasts the transports, and roasts the guys inside.

Venom spam is effective if you can get the first turn off Before the flyrants take to the air. 2+ cover is hard to beat on everything.

It'll be an uphill battle the entire game with all of the S6 shooting, powerful templates, cover saves, and psychic screams.

So yeah, razor wings are pretty good, as are reaver with cluster caltrops (as long as the opponent doesn't have template weapons)
