"If a zooming flyer is forced to move less than 18" in its own Movement Phase, it is automatically Wrecked"

What are things that would make this happen? We were thinking of a Stunned flyer, moving only 18" in a straight line, encountering infantry blobs that forced it to stop short to not violate the 1" rule.

But

"Models that physically fit under a Flyer model can move beneath it. Likewise, a Flyer can end its move over such models."

So what's up with this? In that scenario, does the plane explode because it went too close to some people on the ground? Or does the "fitting underneath" rule kick in, and if so, what else can force a flyer to move less than 18"??

Sorry if this has been covered before/ruled unanswerable. Went back a few pages and didn't turn anything up.

Erm...the very next sentence?

Quote :
However, when moving this way, enemy models must still remain 1" away from the base of the Flyer, and the Flyer cannot end its move with its base within 1" of other enemy models.

The only time this has ever cropped up for me is in tournament play when someone has forgotten to move their flyer then tried to move it half way through their shooting phase.

The TO ruling has always been its destroyed because it didn't move 18 inches.

No idea about your example though...

I have vector locked a flyer, then ran a beastpack under where it will be next turn for the auto destroy.
It is a valid tactic.

+1 to Skulnbonez

A valid tactics than can be used occationally. Remember to have one fast skimmer/jetbike that has not allready flat outed/turboed that can bu used to occupy damaged fliers movement place.
