PostSubject: Making Loki   Tue Dec 30 2014, 00:04

For a bit of fun, I want to try and make Loki (from the Avengers).

S far, I'm thinking an Archon with either Clone- or Shadow-field (representing his illusions), a Blaster (representing those beams his staff fired).

Anyway, I'm looking for help with a few things:
1) Should he have a Shadowfield or a Clonefield?
2) What melee weapon best suits him?
3) He should probably have an artefact, but which one?
4) Any other wargear you think would suit him?

Don't worry about cost, efficiency or any such. I'm mainly going for flavour here.

Have you seen this yet? Amazing right?

Shadow Field, Agonizer, and Blaster... Being able to tangle with Thor means he should be able to hurt anybody with a toughness value... the blaster to represent his beams, and the Shadowfield to represent just how hard it is to pin the bugger down. I'd give him a webway portal to represent either the Heimdall deepstrike or him appearing from a cloak of illusions anywhere on the battlefield. Expensive but this is how I run mine and I gotta say this guy has been phenomenal for me. He's actually outshone my Autarch.

As for an artifact I think Helm of Spite would be perfect. With that big honking helm you gotta rep with something! Really puts emphasis on his trickery too.

Thanks, I'll give that a go. Smile

Heheh I actually didn't. Inquisitor Valeria on the Independent Characters forum did.

Here's a link: Archon Loki

That's really awesome. I too would think Helm of Spite for his Artifact. Though I would probably use a Clone Field since I think it fits better. But an Archon with a Clone Field makes all DE players sad panda...

Drakh.

Here is some nice Dark Eldar trickery: The Armour of Misery still leaves you a with 6+ invul save after you failed a Shadowfield save. Wink

Thematically, definitely a Clone Field.

2) What melee weapon best suits him?
+
4) Any other wargear you think would suit him?
I'd go with a Blast Pistol and Agonsier. Both fit his scepter fairly well.

3) He should probably have an artefact, but which one?
If we're talking Artifacts, and we have to pick one, I'm tempted to say the Archangel of Pain, it may not be the most useful, but could easily be themed as the Casket of All Winters (the box from the first Thor film).

By bringing up the Casket of Ancient Winters, you've now made me want to make Malekith too...

Well....you could.

OR you could make some Frost Giants to use as Grotesques, and give one them the Casket.

True. Malekith as Haemonculus at the lead of Ice Giant Grots?

Hmm, I hadn't considered him as a Haemonculus. I was thinking another Archon.

If I used a coven Haemonculus, what wargear would you suggest to fit Malekith's flavour?
