This past weekend, I took part in the 4th annual Foodhammer charity tournament, in Langley, BC.  I also contributed some terrain pieces to the prize pool, to be raffled off.

Since its inception in 2011, Foodhammer has run annual tournaments featuring 40K, Fantasy, X-Wing, Warmachine and Malifaux, and has raised just over $11,000.00 in support of local food banks at one of the neediest times of the year.

This year, we raised another $4,800.00, an amazing result.  Plus, we had a ton of fun doing it!

And back in February, I participated in the inaugral Wargaming Without Borders event in North Vancouver, which featured 40K, Fantasy and Warmachine.  Each year, WGWB will pick a different local charity or global natural disaster relief fund to support, and in 2014 it was the village of San Remigio in the province of Cebu, Philippines. They had been devastated by Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).

The $2,500.00 we raised was enough to allow them to build 10(!) new fishing boats for the village, and they asked us to name them!

I think that's a pretty good effort for a bunch of grown men playing with little plastic toys.  So, tell us what charity work you and your local clubs are involved?

Hey that is great GS. It is great to give to those less fortunate than ourselves, and be able to have a good time with our hobby too Smile
